Lillian Anna Caulk

Lillian Anna Caulk departed this life on September 15, 2015 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She was 78. She was born on January 13, 1937 in Fountain, MD. She was the daughter of the late George and Elsie O. Caulk. “Sissy” or “Baby Sis”, as she was affectionately called, was educated in Kent County Public Schools. Lillian, “Mom” or “Sissy”, was a loving person and no matter what you asked her to do, she never said no. She did know her Lord and Savior and she wanted her four children to get right with God before leaving this world. Everyone she came in contact with would call her Mom. Mom worked for Mrs. Jean Smith and Mrs. Marguerite Kimble. They both liked her and will miss her. Lily or Sissy worked for the Smith’s at a young age. Mom’s favorite hymn was “Rough Side of the Mountain.” She was never married but had four children: Margaret, Charles, James and Joyce. Lillian was preceded in death by four brothers: Ruben, Haywood and Albert, George Sr., and John Caulk, Sr.; a sister, Anna Waters; a nephew who she raised at the age of 13, Ernest Thomas Waters who passed away on December 31, 2007. She leaves to mourn her passing four children, Margaret of Dover, DE, Charles Sr. of Chestertown, MD, James of Philadelphia, PA and Joyce of Chestertown, MD; three grandsons; two granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; one brother, James Caulk of Chestertown, MD; one sister-in-law, Sydney Caulk of Corsica Hills Center in Centreville, MD; one son-in-law, William Lewis; Wayne Dorsey, who looked out for our mom (would go get fried chicken, tomatoes, cabbage, watermelon, string beans green or yellow and would share with people). She also had many friends: Mrs. Jean Smith, Mrs. Marguerite Kimble, Mrs. Lola Lewis, Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Rengarts and their son, Nick Rengarts; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and her home town family of Fountain, MD and Bigwoods. Sometimes its hard to understand why certain things must be. There is a reason for it all, beyond our power to see And may it comfort us a bit however hard the test, To know that God does all things well because He knows what’s best.
