Letitia Rosetta Horsey

LETITIA’S JOURNEY Letitia Rosetta Horsey was born February 27, 1967 to the late Ella Lee Leggett and Samuel James Horsey. She departed this earthly house on February 8, 2023, at home. She was raised by her grandmother, Letitia Leggett Jones. Tish, as she was fondly known, was born and raised in Salisbury, Maryland. However, she lived 20 plus years in Baltimore, Maryland where she made lifelong friends like Gayle and Niecy. Tish received her formal education in the Wicomico County public school system. She worked long hours working toward her GED. Math was a struggle for her, but she pressed forward. During her lifetime, Tish worked as a caretaker and janitor. She was proud of the service she provided to others. She spoke frequently of how she made sure her job was done professionally. Her love of people was obvious in not just the jobs she held, but especially in the way she presented herself to others. She was friendly and loved talking with everyone. Tish spent long hours conversing on the telephone because talking on the telephone was one of her favorite pastimes. She was frequently facetiming or talking with her children, grandbabies, family and friends. You knew it was an enjoyable conversation when she would burst out in laughter. Her voice could really carry. Tish loved her family and friends and your family and friends. Tish also enjoyed cooking and eating. She especially enjoyed sweets and seafood. Family get-togethers were a time for her to talk, cook, and eat. Also, get-togethers were a time for her to show others how interested she was in their lives by actively listening and sharing. Tish enjoyed fellowshipping with 12 step members at meetings and conventions. There, she found true friends who helped to make her life full and enjoyable. She enjoyed playing cards at D.C. Dave's and spending time with Patti. She especially loved conventions at the ocean, which gave her time to go to the beach and collect seashells. Tish was a colorful person, and that was exhibited in her conversations, attitude, and dress attire. You never knew what she might say or wear. Tish was alright with Tish. But most of all, she was easy to please. She enjoyed packing up and going to stay at Taeka's or one of her friends in Baltimore for a week or a month. She was going on "vacation." Tish's love of animals, plants, and the ocean was ever present. Her favorite animals were dogs and turtles. She got those loves from her grandmother. Tish is survived by: her son, Anthony Lee Leggett, Sr.; her grandchildren, D'Asia, Regan, Anthony, Jr., Aiden and Anya; sisters, Joyce Leggett Parsons and Cassandra Stanley; a brother, Samuel Horsey, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by: her sons, Tyron DeCarlo Leggett and Andrew Keith Simpson; her parents and grandparents; sisters, Melanie (Missy) Turner, Sylvia Leggett Broughton and Ramona Leggett Collins and a brother, Lamont Horsey.
