Latrena M. Sheppard

Latrena M. Sheppard, the daughter of Rosetta Sheppard and the late Frederick Pauls, was born on September 10, 1971 in Seaford, DE. She departed this life on June 1, 2015. Latrena graduated in 1998 from Sussex Central Sr. High in Georgetown, DE. After high school, she continued her education at Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, DE. Latrena loved to cook. Her first job was at the former Lampost Rest in Lewes, DE. Her most recent place of employment was Milford Memorial Hospital from 2001 until her illness, as lead cook. Latrena enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She also loved shopping, hanging out with her co-workers, watching soap operas, eating out and spending time with her family. Latrena was a devoted mother. She looked forward to spending quality time with her boys and grandson. Latrena had a smile that was welcoming and warming to everyone around her. She had such a nurturing personality, always lending a hand to someone in need or encouraging others despite her own battles. To God Be the Glory. Latrena accepted Christ at Greater New Hope Church & Ministries in Ridgley, MD. She became a member of Citadel of Hope Ministry in Concord, DE, under the leadership of Pastor Marguerite White. She was a part of the Great I Am Dance Ministry. She loved and knew the Lord. She also loved singing praises unto the Lord. Latrena was preceded in death by her father, Frederick A. Pauls; her grandparents, Dorothy and John Williams. Latrena leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Rosetta Sheppard of Harrington, DE; three sons, Rayshawn and Dajuan Sheppard and JoQuan Bailey; grandson, Rayshawn Sheppard, Jr. all of Seaford, DE; five brothers, Frederick (Teresa) Cannon of Salisbury, MD, Keith (Kim) Pauls of Seaford, DE, Gregory (Sharon) Sheppard of Harrington, DE, Nathan (Haronda) Sheppard of Millsboro, DE and Eric (Tisha) Pauls of Seaford, DE; two brothers she adopted, James Peterson and Jaylen Brickhouse; three adopted sisters, Chasity Smith, Typhany Batson and Catinia Weatherly; one god-daughter, Charlyrasia Batson.
