Kittora Mae Bonneville

Kittora Mae Godwin Bonneville, the beloved daughter of Marlene Godwin and Otis Douglas, was born in Temperanceville, Virginia on July 3, 1972. After a lengthy illness, she was ushered from her earthly life to her eternal life of Glory on Friday, February 7, 2014. Kitt, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. She graduated from Arcadia High School, Delaware State, Wor-Wic Tech, Eastern Shore Community College, Salisbury State University and Penn State, obtaining various degrees in technical skills and childcare. She loved children and loved her job caring for children; especially one on one care with a child with special needs. Even during her illness, she would always say she was going back to work and eagerly awaited the time until she could return to the children. Kitt collected zebras and enjoyed arts and crafts, singing (even though her mother said she couldn't carry a tune) and baking. She would often call Kia and Candice to come over to what was known as their “ Fat Girl Session” and they would be baking, talking, laughing and eating. She was very patient and had a very humble and loving spirit. When she spoke to you, her voice was soft and she would have the most beautiful smile. It was almost impossible to get her to take some time for herself (Me time) because she would be busy taking care of someone else. Often if you would ask her if there was anything you could do for her, regardless of her pain, she was always ready to help and would just say “it’s okay” and do whatever needed to be done. She loved her family. In her final days, as her family stood around her bed with tears in their eyes, she comforted them by lovingly looking at them and saying “Do not cry. Where is your faith?” Fond and loving memories of her life will always be cherished by: her mother, Marlene Godwin of Temperanceville, VA; her father, Otis Douglas of Snow Hill, MD; a son she helped raise as her own child, Ka’ Wuan Elzey; six sisters—Toi Beckett of Salisbury, MD, Crystal Mills of Wattsville, VA, Kia Blake of Stockton, MD, Tracy Hillman (Colby) of Dover, DE and Cherry Taylor of Melfa, VA and a special sister Tara Knox (David) of Temperanceville, VA; two brothers—Terence Douglas and Lorenzo Taylor (Shasta) of Salisbury, MD; four aunts—Mary Holden, Vanessa Jackson, Lois Dickerson, and Regina Tingle; nine uncles—Kennie Godwin (Louveller), Calvin Godwin (Gwen), Norris Godwin (Marie), James Godwin, William Shrieves (Sue), Russell Justice, Homer Justice (Janice) and James Harmon; great uncle—Toby Williams; great aunt—Dr. Obie Williams; her best friend Candice Gray and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
