Kathy Louise Wallop

Kathy L. Wallop peacefully fell asleep in death, at the age of 69 on Friday, March 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Salisbury, Maryland, alongside her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Wallop. Kathy was born to the late Wilson and Letha Wright on April 5, 1954. Kathy graduated from Wicomico Senior High School in 1972 and went on to achieve a 25-year career with Delmarva Power and Light as an executive administrative assistant and payroll specialist. After her tenure with Delmarva Power and Light, Kathy opened her own daycare business, ‘Stay and Play Daycare’, where she cared for preschool aged children for more than 10 years. Kathy’s love for her God Jehovah moved her to dedicate her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1969. As a faithful member of the Salisbury West congregation for more than 55 years, Kathy enjoyed talking with people about the Bible and engaging in the preaching work. In 1971, she met her devoted life partner Jimmy, whom she wed in 1973. They welcomed two daughters, Stacy and Jamie. Jimmy and Kathy were a dynamic duo, who built a beautiful life together. Anyone who’s ever known Kathy could never forget her infectious laugh, witty sense of humor and love for the color red. Kathy was known to get up on the dance floor and challenge you to a dance battle. She had a passion for poetry, playing card and board games, riding roller coasters, and she could never resist a good organizer or briefcase. Kathy was infamous for her photography skills and would capture not only candid shots but stop you for a quick pose in front of her camera - not to mention the countless selfies we found in her cell phone LOL. Her eye for the perfect picture at the perfect moment has left treasured memories for many families and friends. In addition to her parents, Wilson and Letha Wright, Kathy is preceded in death by two brothers; Wilson Wright Jr. and Larry Wright and a nephew, Victor Wright. The precious memory of Kathy is left to be cherished by her husband; Jimmy Wallop of Salisbury MD; daughter Stacy Wallop of Upper Marlboro, MD and daughter Jamie Wallop of Brandywine, MD; granddaughter Jada Tucker of Brandywine, MD; sister Phyliss McGriff (Robert) of Salisbury MD, sister Sandra Handy (Billy) of Salisbury MD; brother Terry Wright of Salisbury, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and spiritual family.
