Josephine M. Wilson

Josephine Marcella Wilson went to be with God on Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was 75 years old. She was born on March 28, 1940 to the late Bishop Floyd and Mary Holland of Caroline County, MD. She was commonly known as J.W. or Evangelist Josephine Wilson. Jo was educated in Caroline County Public Schools. She was the owner of Table Decor by Jo, a decorating business specializing in wedding and specialty table decor. She also had various other jobs. She loved to go fishing, doing evangelistic work and outreach for the lost. Her passion was playing the piano and singing God's praises. In 2015 while in Harrison House Nursing Home her outreach did not cease. She was featured on WBOC, playing the piano and dressed in her Sunday Best. She was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, at Purity Gospel Mission Evangelist Wilson found joy in being a Servant for God’s kingdom under the leadership of Bishop Floyd Holland in Ivytown, MD. She served as president of the pastor’s aide at Mission Hill Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, Bishop John Mosley. It was a blessing to her to see men and women turn their lives over to Christ. “J. W.” is what the saints and Bishop George Copeland of United Faith Church of Deliverance would call her. Her legacy of servanthood, outreach, worship and praise can be heard and felt today when you close your eyes and think of J. W. with a smile. Josephine leaves to mourn two sons, Samuel Holland (Mary) of Trappe, MD and Jacob Sherwood of Salisbury, MD; five grandchildren, Shauntell Robinson, Samuel Holland, Jr., Michael Holland, Jessica Sherwood and Lakesha Fletcher; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Hayward of New Haven, CT and Esther Coleman (Ronald) of Federalsburg, MD; one brother, Timothy Holland of Easton, MD; one sister-in-law, Alfreda Holland of Preston, MD; one godson, Bruce Mosley of Milford, DE; one goddaughter, Jovonya Kellum of Milford, DE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded her in death by three sisters, Ruth, Gloria and Christina and four brothers, Floyd Jr., Daniel, John and Leon. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Josephine M.
