Joseph Brinsfield Dashiell

Obituary Joseph B. Dashiell, of Eden, Maryland, was called home to be with the Lord at the age of eighty-six (86) on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland. Joseph to some, but others knew him as “Joe” or “Sonny Boy,” was a native of Somerset County. He graduated from Somerset County public schools in 1948. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he fought in the Korean War, and was awarded a Purple Heart. In 1961, Sonny Boy met the love of his life, Virgie Smith White. He was employed at Delaney’s in Fruitland, Maryland. While Sonny and Virgie were dating, they decided to become employed at Campbell Soup Company, Inc. in Salisbury, Maryland they where married on March 11, 1972. “Sonny Boy “worked at Campbell Soup until her retired at the age of 65, then began to drive Limousine for Bishop James Eure, Jr. At affordable Lim Service, Inc. and Transportation Services at Go-Getters in Salisbury, Maryland until he choose to enjoy his retirement. “Sonny Boy” was an active member at Mt. Hope A.M.E. Zion Church in Princess Anne, Maryland, Where he was a member of the Men’s Choir, and the trustee Board. “Sonny Boy” enjoyed playing Baseball, going hunting with his friends Vernon Hope and George Smith and most importantly reading God’s word. Her leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters; Natasha Dashiell of Princess Anne, Maryland and Shelia Waters of Salisbury, Maryland, four Sons; Paris Johnson, of Dover, Delaware, Tony Crump of Delmar, Delaware, Robert (Donna) White, and Virgil (Sandra ) White, both of Salisbury, Maryland; his nephew that he raised as his own; Brian Tull of Dover, Delaware; five sisters-in-law; Ardenna Williams, of Rehobeth, Maryland, Recie (Vernon) Hope, of Pocomoke City, Maryland Mary Hutt of Princess Anne, Maryland, Reba (Armstead) Jones Sr. of Baltimore, Maryland Minita Johnson, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; four Brothers-n-laws George (Mary Lee) Smith Sr. of Salisbury, Maryland, Nathaniel (Deborah) Smith Sr. Of Baltimore, Maryland Cecil Smith, Sr. of Crisfield, Maryland and Lamont Smith Sr. of Marumsco, Maryland. four special granddaughters; 11 grandchildren; 6 greatgrandchildren; 2 special nieces Shalinda Taylor and Deborah Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, Cousins and friends.
