Jose Morales Saez Sr.

Jose (Rosario) and his twin brother Juan (Sarito) were born June 23, 1949, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. They were the sons of Francisco Morales and Reyes Saez. Jose loved his native Puerto Rico, but moved to the states to seek work. Jose arrived in the states at the tender age of 16 and settled in Milton, Delaware. During the 1960’s, many Puerto Ricans left their beloved Puerto Rico for job opportunities. Jose found employment at the King Cole factory and subsequently met and married Patricia Ann (Horsey) Saez. The beautiful couple raised seven children who cherished their parents. In the 1980’s, Jose and Patricia began working at the Casa San Francisco in Milton. While working at “Casa” they were able to help thousands of people throughout their greater than 25 years of service. During that time, they also created friendships that would last a lifetime. Jose has always been a hard worker and worked two jobs, most of his life, to provide for his family. Jose simultaneously worked in construction and subsequently started Saez and Sons Roofing with his youngest son, Juan in 1999. Saez and Sons Roofing has been prosperous and has built a great reputation over the years. The business was subsequently transferred to Juan, who has continued the great work ethic started over 20 years ago. All of his children can attest to the fact that Dad always loved following fire trucks and ambulances. He subsequently joined the Milton Fire Department, working as an EMT, ambulance driver and a fire police. Jose worked tirelessly responding to fire calls over the years. It was only declining health that stopped him from responding to the fire calls. Jose was honored as a lifetime member of the Milton Fire Department. Jose was a man of faith and would help anyone in need. Jose’s world was turned upside down with the passing of his wife of 30 years, Patricia, on April 1, 2006. Jose would suffer another devasting loss with the death of his son, Eduardo Miguel Saez and his wife, Priscilla on June 5, 2013. The Horsey/Saez family has always been known as an extremely close family and, because of their faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they have been able to persevere. Jose’s life experienced a breath of fresh air and sunshine when he married Beverly (Howell) Saez, in 2013. This woman of God was able to fill a void, that his children, as much as we loved him, could not fill. The two of them had a beautiful marriage and complemented one another totally. Dad did not travel a lot, but Beverly was able to convince him to take a cruise to the Bahamas, which they enjoyed immensely. Dad loved to work in his garden and plant trees and flowers. Jose and Beverly faithfully attended Kingdom Worship Ministries, under Overseer Malissa Dukes. Due to dad’s declining health they could not travel as much as they would have liked, but Beverly was faithful and protective of her husband until his death. Jose Morales Saez transitioned, at home, to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on March 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Morales and Reyes Saez; brothers, Felipe, Panchito and Daniel; sisters, Gloria, Carmen and Paula; wife, Patricia Ann Saez; son, Eduardo Miguel Saez; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Saez; and granddaughters, Christina Stevens and Patricia Elena Saez. Jose leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of eight years, Beverly Saez; daughter, Maria Horsey; sons, Ozell Horsey, Timothy Horsey, Antonio and Lori Saez, Jose and Zona Saez and Juan Saez, Sr ; ex-daughter-in-law, Christina Saez (who remains a special member of the Saez family); his stepdaughter, Oshell and her husband, Jermaine Cooper; siblings, twin brother Juan (Sarito), brother, Pablo and sister, Margarita; a host of grandchildren, DJ, Terez, Timisha, Brittany, Ashley, Tomiko, Shanell, Antonio Jr, Juan Jr, Jordan, Trevon, Sean, Marc, Mari, Keila, Journey, Maya, Eduardo Jr, Destiny, Timothy Jr, Daniel, Jose III, Simone and Stan; as well as eleven great grandchildren. Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-14
