Jonathan Keith Wright

Jonathan Keith Wright, at the age of sixty-six (66), departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 with his wife by his side at home in Fruitland, Maryland. He was born on October 17, 1949 to Sadie Ann Christopher, who later married Oscar Marion Wright (Stepfather). He attended and graduated from Somerset County Public Schools. After graduating, he was drafted in the United States Army, where he started to cut hair. Jonathan was honorably discharged from the Army and he decided to go to Barber School. He was employed for twenty-seven years as a supervisor at Campbell Soup Company, where his co-workers call him “Big Daddy.” His interests included enjoying drag racing and NASCAR, watching westerns and black and white movies. He truly enjoyed going to the vegetable garden with his brothers, for a little bro’ time. Jonathan was better known as Keith to most of his family and friends. Jonathan is survived by: his wife of forty-two years, Edna Charlotte Wright “Lottie”, his mother Sadie Ann Wright; two daughters, Peggy (Stanley) Fyall of Salisbury, Maryland and Kimberly Wright of Pocomoke, Maryland; three brothers, Oscar Wright of Salisbury, Maryland, Elvis Wright of Eden, Maryland and Anthony (Ruth) Wright of Salisbury, Maryland; five sisters, Sharon (Sidney) Cottman of Salisbury, Maryland, Portia (Martin) Dixon of Salisbury, Maryland, Marylin (Darnell) Bryant of Fruitland, Maryland, Sofia Wright of Salisbury, Maryland and Lisa Wright of Salisbury Maryland; three grand children, Monique Wright, Jonathan Briscoe and Jordyn Fyall; one great granddaughter, Mahkayla Purnell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Wright and Petula Wright. Jonathan will surely be missed by his family and friends A caring heart stopped beating; A voice we love is still. An empty place left in our hearts that no one else can fill. Someday we hope to meet you; some day we’ll meet in a better land Never to part again.
