Jonathan T. Tue

JONATHAN THEA TUE (Sarge) is now in eternal life with the Lord. He was born in Dover, DE on January 8, 1956 and was the son of the late Dorothy Tue. For a significant part of his youth, he was raised by his mother and grandparents (James and Cora Tue). His life as a child and as an adult was filled with many adventures, discoveries, and transitions. In line with African American traditions during his adolescent years, Sundays were dedicated to church. Jonathan faithfully attended Sunday school and church services with his family. It was during this time that Jonathan gave God his heart and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. This spiritual transformation marked his greatest achievement and serves as a lasting memory in the hearts and minds of those who loved him, Jonathan demonstrated patriotism and love for his country by joining the US Army in 1991. His accomplishments in the military included receiving the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon. One of the highlights of his military career was the exciting experiences he had in Germany. In 1993 Jonathan received an honorable discharge from the Army. He continued to show love for his country by joining the Army Reserves where he proudly served more than twenty years. Jonathan was a free-spirited individual who enjoyed playing marbles, bike riding, fishing, and listening to music in the company of friends. As a novice musician, he enjoyed singing and playing his guitar for entertainment. He continued to share his musical talents as a DJ at many community social functions. We will always remember his sense of humor that made him very dear and special to us. Jonathan was a kind and loving individual, and he had a one-of-a-kind personality that will linger in our memories forever. Jonathan is survived by his father, Julius Joseph; two uncles, Phil Tue and James Duffy; three aunts, Gladys B. Tue, Alonia Walker Tue, and Lola M.
