Johnnie Carter III

Johnnie’s Journey Johnnie Carter III transitioned and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Christ on April 20, 2024. He was the son of Johnnie Carter, Jr. and Lisa Mills. He was the gifted bonus son to Anne Rucker-Carter at the young age of seven. He asked Anne Rucker, “Miss Anne, when you and my dad get married, can I call you “mom?” Her answer was “Yes sweetheart yesss!” That was the beginning of a three-fold cord, that was never broken during his life. Johnnie spent his childhood in Fruitland, Maryland. During that time, Johnnie played Little League Football as a defensive tackle for the Fruitland Falcons. He also attended Fruitland Intermediate School where he was an honor roll student. Johnnie was also a faithful member of St. John’s House of Deliverance where he accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. Johnnie attended Wicomico County Public Schools and received his GED in 2020. He explored his options with employment. He was employed at Perdue Farms, next at a furniture moving company in Ocean City, Maryland and later at Amick Farms. Finally, he returned to Perdue Farms where he worked until he was called home. Supervisors and co-workers spoke highly of Mr. Carter. When bringing funds to the family, everyone was genuine and generous. B.J. or Johnnie “B” as he was sometimes called, was a true gamer with a Capital “G.” His gamer tag was “JALLDAYKILLIN.” When you sat down with him, you better get ready to “rumble!” Johnnie also spent some of his free time writing music as a gospel rapper. His number one song was about going to “Heaven at 7”. Johnnie was a kind, sweet young man who would be in your memory…forever. His Perdue Family supervisors had nothing but kind words and memories of a hard worker to share. Johnnie leaves to forever cherish his memories: his father, Johnnie Carter, Jr., his birth mother, Lisa Mills; his “bonus mom”, Anne Carter; five sisters, Yvonne Frazier, Christina Benson, Davette (Reuben, Sr.) LaBoard, Denise (Sunni) Rahman and Shanae Mills; four brothers, Marcus (Sarah) Molock, David Rucker, Jr., Diontay Mills and Paris Bratten; aunts, Diane (Alex) Atkins, Patricia (James) Butler, Ruby Brown and Vandora (Albert) Bateman; uncles, Pastor Daryl Carter and Lawrence Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Johnnie was preceded in death by: two grandmothers, Chief Apostle Ollie Mae Carter and Vandora Drummond; a grandfather, Johnnie Carter, Sr.; his great aunt, Learleen Mentor, B.K.A “Aunt Tee”; a special aunt, Jacqueline Spence and three special cousins, Trina Lockwood-Ames, Erica Butler and Tommie Anderson.
