Jeff Alfreide

Jeff Alfreide, 23 of Seaford, Delaware, went home to Heaven, on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware surrounded by his loving family and friends. Jeff was born on June 7, 1990 in Haiti, at the Hospital Diquini of Port-au-Prince. He was the junior child of Albertha Alfreide of Delmar, MD and the late Facius Alfreide. Jeff Alfreide is survived by his three siblings, Jean Alfreide of Delmar, MD, Jhampy Alfreide of Miami FL, and Bertine A. Lucas his one and only sister of Delmar, MD. He departed and left behind his niece Samorah Josie Lucas and his nephew Lehem Chelrick Lucas. Jeff was a family man; he would spend hours playing with his niece and nephew. He enjoyed being around his family watching movies, praying, getting into the Word of God and, making silly jokes. He never enjoyed being in the hospital, because he hated the hospital food and to be alone without his family. Jeff loved to eat and his favorite was white rice with black bean sauce and legume. Jeff went to Seaford Senior High School where he graduated in 2009 and then continued with his education at Delaware Technical Community College where he was pursuing a degree in Communications. His dream was to become a journalist and a writer. In high school, he was very athletic. He ran cross country, track, wrestling and he played soccer. Jeff worked at Radio Shack then, moved to JCrew where he worked as a salesperson. Jeff enjoyed working at JCrew and admired the clothing line; and he was a man of fashion. Jeff loved to read and write. He played the drums and he loved it; he would spend several hours practicing on his drum set in the garage. He was a basketball fan and his favorite team was the Celtics and his favorite player was Kevin Garnett. Jeff loved to chew on some twizzlers, especially the red ones. Although Jeff’s favorite color was red, he enjoyed wearing bright and lovely colors. He barely wore black and white. Jeff was very active in the church. He was a Sunday school teacher where he taught the youth about God and the Bible. Jeff was a warrior for Christ. He would evangelize wherever he went; at the basketball park, at his job and at his school. During his stay at the hospital whomever stepped a foot in his room he was willing to share the Gospel with that person. Jeff was a spiritual father to the youth of his community. No matter what time it was he was willing to help or pray with his friends. Jeff was a spiritual advisor to the youth in the community and devoted many hours teaching them about the Word of God. Jeff’s dream was to unite the youth of Delmarva to walk in righteousness before God and do great things for Him. Jeff was called home to his Heavenly Father on January 23, 2014 around 11:45 pm surrounded by his sister, his brother-in-law, his girlfriend, and his favorite friends. He went peacefully to His Heavenly Father after fulfilling his God-given purpose on this earth. Now he is resting peacefully without fears, worries, pain and suffering in Paradise.
