Jason Justin Lunnermon

Jason’s Journey Jason Justin Lunnermon was born on August 22, 1980, to Mary Brockett Lunnermon and the late James Lunnermon I. A cherished friend and father, he unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the age of forty-five (45). After graduation from Washington High School, Jason furthered his academic pursuits at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, majoring in Hotel/Restaurant Management, aspiring to achieve his dream of becoming a chef. At the age of twenty-one (21), he promptly departed from his educational pursuits to enlist in the United States Army, where he was assigned to Fort Jackson in South Carolina. Throughout his basic training, he formed numerous friendships within the Army that quickly evolved into brotherly bonds. Jason would go on to serve alongside some of his dearest friends, including Freeman Walker, Brian Hammond and Calvin Bell. Jason was proud to serve in the military and loved his extended military family. He was always willing to share a memory of his time in the service with family and friends. Upon leaving the service, Jason matriculated at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina, where he obtained an associate's degree. Throughout the years, Jason took on different roles such as property manager, cook and hotelier. When he was not working, Jason loved his Baltimore Ravens and was willing to debate with anyone about them. He was a prankster and always the life of the party. His smile was contagious, and he had a laugh that made you join along. Jason was a dog lover, traveling to New Jersey to handpick his favorite companion, "Bruce." Also, he loved the music of "Dipset" and swore he was an honorary member. Jason enjoyed riding for hours listening to music. One of Jason's most valued treasures was his son, Armani Jasean Lunnermon. Prior to his birth, Jason devoted all his time telling his family about him and envisioning a bright future for his son. He would be his guardian angel, ensuring that his son would lack nothing in life. Preceding Jason in death were his father, James Lunnermon I and grandparents, Margaret and Joseph Brockett. In addition to his mother, Mary Lunnermon, Jason is survived by: one son, Armani Lunnermon and his mother Stacy Purnell; two brothers, James Lunnermon II and Dominick (Stacy) Lunnermon; one aunt, JoAnn Brockett; cousins, Aprille Bryd and Autumn Wallace; his dog Bruce and a host of additional family and friends.
