Jason Wills Campfort

Jason W. Campfort was affectionately known by family and friends as “Jayjay” or “Cone”. He passed away at the age of 14 on Sunday, June 06, 2017 at the Boat Ramp located at the Nanticoke River in Seaford, Delaware. Jason was born to Jacquotte Campfort and Jean Emile Obas on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 in Cap Haitian, Haiti. Jason came to America at 9 months old and lived most of his life in Seaford, Delaware. He did, however, get to visit Haiti 2 times and he also visited Florida and Pennsylvania. Jason attended daycare at the age of 10 months with Leslie Snow-Cornish, where he found his American family. Dimere Robinson and Anthony (Buck) Robinson was Jason’s 1st keepers at daycare; they didn’t go anywhere without their “Cone”. Jason’s American daycare family called him Cone because he was always in something. Jason loved his other sisters: Lyesh Snow & Laquashia Snow; anytime he stayed with Auntie Leslie, while his mother went to Haiti, he would be with them. Jason grew up mostly with his sister, Hundra P. Campfort, whom he loved very much. He also grew up with lots of uncles and cousins. As a child, he was always around his cousin, Lorissa Moise, Rania Saincy, Stephanie Ulysse and Ashley Saincy, as well as Terell Davon West, who used to watch over him as well. Jason spent a lot of time with his god-mother, Roselene Campfort, during the time she was living in Laurel, Delaware. Jason desired to have a job. He loved to play basketball and said that basketball was his life. He played football for a while, but he didn’t really like it as much as basketball. Jason was pretty lazy so once he realized that football required a lot of movement, he gave up. Jason was a bad/good boy and if you knew Jason personally, you would know just what that means. He was very spoiled and he knew it. Jason is survived by his mother, Jacquotte Campfort; his father, Jean Emile Obas; his sister, Hundra P. Campfort, as well as other siblings: Emmilne Alvares, Kasandra Alvares, Jean Yvesnel Obas, Jean Francis Obas, Jean Endil Obas, Jean Emilie Junior Obas and Fiara Alavares; his uncles, Berlin Campfort, Wilky Campfort, and Evens Campfort; and his auntie, Christina Campfort.
