Janile Nijah Coulbourn

Janile Nijah Coulbourn was born on June 19, 1987, to Keeta Mitchell, (Herman Brown, Sr.) and the late Robert “Chucky” Coulbourn at Francis Scott Key Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He departed this life suddenly on October 14, 2023, at his residence. Janile was affectionately called J-NICE, NICE, NILE, or ROZAY by family and friends. He was known for his stylish clothes, Jordans, and big beard. He was a laid-back person who loved family, especially his mom and brothers. Janile had a good heart and would do anything to help others. On September 18, 2023, Janile became the proud father to his one and only child, Zy’on Nijah Coulbourn. He loved life and he lived it. His famous sayings were, “Grind Hard, You Shine Hard”, “AT THE TOP IT’S JUST US”, and “WHAT’S GOOD WITCHA.” Janile was a 2005 graduate of Wicomico High School, and he went to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for two years. He held various jobs in his life; however at the time of his death, he was employed at Boscov’s Department Store. He was also a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan. Janile received his spiritual growth at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, drummer, and choir member. Janile is survived by not only his parents, but one son, Zy’on Nijah Coulbourn; special friend Danielle Lightfoot; stepmother, Ramona Pullum; four brothers, Byron (Nikkia) Coulbourn of Salisbury, Maryland, Herman Brown, Jr. of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Malik Brown of Salisbury Maryland, and Melvin (Andrienne) Watson of New Mexico; three sisters, Tess Coulbourn of Salisbury, Maryland, Christina Collins of Baltimore, Maryland, and Zakia Collins of Salisbury, Maryland; three uncles, Pastor Craig Mitchell of Salisbury, Maryland, Anthony Cromwell of Cambridge, Maryland, and Dwayne Davis; twelve aunts, Paula Harper (Antonio) of Woodbridge, Virgina, Lori Hayman of Washington, DC, Tonya Holland of Delmar, Maryland, Karen (Randy) Wallop of Delmar, Maryland, Sherelle (Anthony) Mczeal of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Peketia Mitchell of Salisbury, Maryland, Carmeletta Cain of Salisbury, Maryland, Vernelle (Lance) Hawkins of Baltimore, Maryland, Darlene Coulbourn of Salisbury, Maryland, Janet (Walt) Stevenson of Berlin, Maryland, Dianna Butts of Dover, Delaware, and Andrea Brown of Delmar, Maryland; maternal grandparents, Joan Mitchell of Salisbury, Maryland and Leroy (Cheryl) Sampson of Hurlock, Maryland and paternal grandmother, Willie Mae Brown of Eden, Maryland; three cousins/brothers, Timyron and Jimyron Hutt of Salisbury, Maryland and Zamar Collins (Alexis) of Berlin, Maryland; two best friends, Socorie (Delisa) Hall and Shawn (Jennifer) Dorman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Janile was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gertrude and Joseph Elzey, Mildred and Robert Coulbourn, Herman Brown, Leroy and Naomi Sampson, God-mother, Barbara Atkinson, two uncles, Bruce Brown and Leroy Holland and his aunt, Loretta Brown, whom he loved dearly.
