Ismaelie Antoine

Ismaelie Antoine, age 57, loving mother of four children and long-time resident of Salisbury, MD, passed away in the late hours of February 2, 2022 after an arduous and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away in peace at home surrounded by her family. Ismaelie was born in 1965 in Haiti. She had 4 siblings. Ismaelie is survived by her 4 wonderful children, Lydie J. Tessono, Claudy Joinville, Roosevelt Joinville, and Billy Joinville; her grand-daughter Phoebe F. Marcelus; her siblings Eveline Antoine, Audena and Denis Blanchard; her mother Olitese Saint Surin; her daughter-in-law Cheelove Joinville, and son-in-law Pierre Y. Tessono. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jean-Claude Joinville. Ismaelie was known by everyone to be a loving, caring, fun, and selfless woman, always giving her time and attention to others. She met her husband, Jean Claude, in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. They both shared a love for family and a vision to start a family. They were married for 29 years. As a wife, she was loving, strong, and supportive to her husband and family. As a mother, she was generous, loving and kind. She was always ready to make any sacrifice for the good of her family and willing to help others in need. Ismaelie became a grandmother five years ago; she was filled with happiness about her family starting to grow much bigger. Ismaelie was a very devoted member of her church. She enjoyed going to church and served the church in various capacities including in the choir, youth group, and women’s group. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and cooking. Ismaelie touched many lives with her positive outlook on life and outgoing personality. The world will truly miss the love and light she brought wherever she was, and the kindness and generosity she extended to everyone she knew. The Joinville’s family wish to extend our deepest gratitude to all the medical staff that cared for Ismaelie, her church family, friends and colleagues that sustained her throughout her courageous battle with cancer.
