Isaiah Phillips

Isaiah Lavontae Phillips, 21 was born on June 18,1997, to Hubert and Sherri Phillips. He departed this life, October 25, 2018, at Christiana Hospital, under the watchful eye of Seasons Hospice, Newark, Delaware. Isaiah resided at Tobola Health Care Services, Inc., residential group home, from 2017 - 2018. Isaiah attended the John S. Charlton Elementary & Secondary School, then attended Kent County Community School from 2017-2018 and later graduated from Dover High School in Dover, Delaware in May of 2018. He enjoyed attending school and his day program at CERTS. Isaiah enjoyed music, car rides, and action-packed movies. His smile could warm up the room. He loved being surrounded by family. He also loved getting haircuts by his dad, giving his dad hi-fives as well as patting his dad’s head. Isaiah and his mother had their own love song called “Mommy’s Boy” that Isaiah would yearn to hear as he rubbed her face. Visits with his sisters was always the highlight to his day. Isaiah was preceded in death by his sister, Shardae Downes; paternal grandmother Sylvia Commodore; paternal great-grandmothers, Dorothy Harris and Margaret Brown; paternal great-grandfather Hubert Phillips; and maternal great-grandfather, James Turner, Sr. Isaiah leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents, Hubert and Sherri Phillips; four sisters, Kimika Ann Gordeaux, New Castle, DE, Roshelle Bryant, Smyrna, DE, Briona Phillips, Easton, MD and Kaniya Phillips, Smyrna, DE; maternal Great-Grandmother, Jean Turner, Wye Mills, MD; maternal grandmother, Iris Corbin, Smyrna, DE; maternal grandfather, Robert Corbin, Los Angeles, CA; paternal grandfather, Hubert “Pie” (Jolly) Phillips Sr., Stevensville, MD; paternal grandmother, Rita Phillips, Chestertown MD; paternal Great Grandfather, Arville Thomas, Rock Hall, MD; one aunt, Tylicia (Dontri) Bolden, Seaford, DE; one uncle, Troy (Shelley) Corbin, NC; one niece, Heaven Portee, Smyrna, DE; godparents, Jonnika and Greg Loften; one godbrother, Tony Elliot; four god sisters, Faith Brooks, Amori Chandler, Zikarra Lively and Amaurya LeGrand; devoted care staff of Tabola Health Services DE, Linette Warren, Veronica Harrell and Shontae Sturivent; Bill Brown Maximum Care, DE and their nursing staff; Tanya Thornton and Tamika Hudson of CERTS Day Program; Bonnie Fitzel from the Charlton School; along with a great host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends.
