THE LIFE OF A MISSIONARY The Beginning: Isabelle Tynes Baker was the only child of Lelia King & Vernon Lee Tynes. Mother Baker would have had 5 Siblings however, they died at birth-she the epitome of a “Living Testimony” Born in Wicomico County September 23, 1951 until her day of rest August 15, 2022. She received her education in the Wicomico County Public School System. Evangelist Baker was employed with Deers Head State Hospital for 20 years as a Supervisor until her retirement in 2010. Prior to that she worked at Manhattan Sewing Factory as a Seamstress. Mother Baker was also employed with Dove Point, she had a special love for every client that she served. Mom Baker surrendered to the call of Jesus Christ in the early 1970’s at Mardela & Easton Apostolic Church under the Leadership of District Elder Luther C Johnson. During the time of her conversion to Christ she married the love of her life & late husband Pastor Emanuel C Baker, who preceded her in death in 2011. The Missionary: Only What you do for Christ will last was her Mantra and she spent many years bringing Souls to the Kingdom. She literally went into the hedges and the highways and compelled men to come to Jesus Christ. There was never a need for a pulpit or a microphone just the Word of God, lots of love & a willing vessel. Mother Baker won many Souls to the Kingdom, and was used by God to bring healing & deliverance to many. Mom Baker never hesitated to speak “The Truth”. At the end of everyday, she would say: I just wanted to be saved. Evangelist Isabelle Baker has served in the ministry of serving women for over 40 years. She was the president of the Willing Workers for 15 years at Mardela Apostolic Church under the leadership of District Elder Luther Johnson. Upon leaving Mardela Apostolic Church she served 10 years as the President of the women’s ministry & Sunday School Teacher under the leadership of Bishop Emanuel Baker. She also served as the Vice President of the Women’s Auxiliary in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. for two years under Lady Lana Pendleton, and another two years under Dr. Ada Parker. Succeeding these positions, Bishop Frank Johnson appointed Evangelist Baker as the national president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Apostolic Faith Fellowship International, Inc., which she has served faithfully for 6 years. Evangelist Baker served as the local/national President of the Ministers and Deacons Wives Auxiliary in the AAFI, Inc. The Mother/Nana: Evangelist Baker is the wife of the late Bishop Emanuel C. Baker, the mother of Michelle Lewis & husband Willie, Danielle Baker, Troy Baker & the loving & adored grandmother of Caleb and Kaela Mitchell. God Sons: Jesse Thomas, Gary Davis Jr, Quincy & Joshua Todd. Mom Baker had several Bonus Children that she lovingly called Sons & Daughters: Michael Campbell, Michael Murray, George Abner, Clarence Corbin, Linda Mason, Sandy Cook, Ashley Benson, Shaonda Giddens, Laverne Chandler, Marie Turner, Davina Campbell & Angela Fooks.
