Inez M Ross

Inez Mildred Haynes Ross was born to John Haynes and Olivia E. Cephas Haynes on Thursday. April 1, 1937 in Wilmington, Delaware, the youngest of 11 children. Mil, as she was affectionately known, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. When Mil was six months old the family moved to Greenwood, Delaware. She attended Greenwood School to the 8th grade, then attended and graduated from William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in in Georgetown, Delaware. She was able to work for 35 years and retire from Playtex International Plant in Dover, Delaware. Mil always stated that she was blessed to work with loving people. Inez met Ernest at Bethel Church and consequently became good friends. They later married and from that union were born three children. Everyone went to Williams Chapel Church and her mother insisted that all the children attend as well. It was her desire to have all of them there. They fell in love with the people at Williams Chapel and how they loved Christ. She served faithfully on the Usher Board. "Put your Hand in the Hand of the Man Who Stills the Water" was an all-time favorite, actually one of the last songs to which she responded. In her leisure hours, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, flea markets, shopping and attending church to worship the Lord. She also spent time making scrap books and picture albums. She was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Lamont Ross, Jr. and her husband, Ernest L. Ross, Sr. and nine siblings, George Haynes, Charles Haynes, Laura Gross, William Haynes, Lewis Haynes, Louise Hayes, Walter Haynes, Ruth Jenkins and Alfred Haynes. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Michael A. (Roxanne) Ross of Greenwood, Delaware; one daughter, Sabrina Quail of Delmar, Delaware; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Olivia Savage of Bridgeville, Delaware (the only surviving sibling); two brothers-in-law, Atlas (Nancy) of Bridgeville, Delaware and Jerome Ross of Federalsburg, Maryland; two sisters-in-law; Evelyn (Ralph) Fooks of Williamstown, New Jersey and Dorothy Cannon of Federalsburg, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special nieces were Mrs. Phyllis (Delbert) Dixon & family and Mrs. Adrienne G. Jenkins & family. Mil enjoyed special friendships with Mrs. Tillie Bell Faulk & family, Mrs. Frances Smack & family and Mrs. Lina Mae Horne & family. She was loved by many, too numerous to mention.
