Henry Thomas White

Henry “Salty Dog” Thomas White, son of the late Louis Hayman and Melissa White Stewart, was born on June 18, 1929 in Oaksville, Maryland. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Henry was a hard worker and was great at what he did. For over 20 years, he worked at Hollins Rigging as a logger. After ending his career with Hollins, he worked anther 20 years with George and Lynch as a construction worker. Henry was a jack of many trades. He loved to work on vehicles and doing construction work. He loved construction so much that he built his own house in Princess Anne, Maryland. He was naturally and incredibly talented and loved spending time with his family and friends. Whenever there was a family reunion or family cookout, he loved to make everyone laugh with his great sense of humor. He loved to dance, play horseshoes, and play baseball. He loved to talk to anyone with whom he came in contact—family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers. Henry was a God-fearing man who loved the Lord!!! As a young man, Henry was raised in a Methodist church. He later dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and became a member of Saint James United Methodist Church in Westover ,Maryland where he sang on the men’s choir and served as a trustee. Later, he joined Mills Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury, Maryland, where he was baptized and became a trustee. He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Marlo White (Tammy) and Lemuel White (Dawn), all of Princess Anne, Maryland; Leland White (Rene) of Chesapeake, Virginia; Linwood Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland, Charlotte Bailey (Mathew), Frances Shockley (Richard), Pamela Shrieves (D’Waine), Cheryl Ballard (Sherwood), Pecola White, Lena Palmer (Nate), Faith Gattis (George), Terrance White (Wanda), David White (Brenda) and Dwight Dennis, all of Salisbury, Maryland; Bonita Copes (Derrick) of Mardela Springs, Maryland and Reginald White (Wendy) of Fort Washington, Maryland; his siblings, Elizabeth Ayers and Tabiothy White of Salisbury, Maryland, Eina Brown of Princess Anne, Maryland, Mary Hayward (James) of Eden, Maryland, Rosie Randolph (Lenard) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and John Stewart (Florence) of El Paso, Texas; 43 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren and host of cousins, friends and other family members.
