Hattie Mary Kollock

Hattie Mary Kollock, the oldest daughter of the late Albert Lawrence, Sr. and Hattie Mary Lawrence (Miller), was born May 19, 1949 and departed this life to see His Glory, November 29, 2013. In 1975, Hattie received her diploma from James H. Groves High School, which is now known as Delaware Technical Community College. In that same year, she became an employee with NCR, the National Cash Register Company. During her employment there, she was afforded the opportunity to drive a school bus for the Indian River School District under the direction of Shelton F. Taylor, Sr. Hattie continued employment with NCR until the company moved in 1981 and began employment with First Omni Bank. She remained with the bank until the company was acquired by Allfirst Financial Center. In 2001, she became a full-time bus driver with Green’s Bus Service, where she continued to remain employed upon her death. From Sarah Coventry to ACN, Hattie with an entrepreneur mindset, always believed there had to be a better way. This was one of her most valuable assets that she loved to share with family and friends. Tirelessly seeking to make a better life and enjoy all that it would bring to the utmost. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother; beautiful inside and out, a true giver to those in need, a woman of faith and fashion. She loved to work outside in her yard, enjoyed travelling and volunteering for Jean’s Loving Daycare. Hattie had a gift of creativity like no other, designing Christmas trees with her sisters and distributing them to local nursing homes, to include, designing gift baskets and floral arrangements for various occasions. Hattie also strongly believed in health and nutrition, not only for herself, but for all those who knew her. One glorious day, Hattie dedicated her life to Christ and became a member of Trinity Holiness Church. She served on the Pastor’s Aide committee, the fundraiser committee and participated on the Missionary Board. Continually seeking His Glory, her faith became unwavering, even during the time of her sickness. She knew God would heal her, if not in this life, it would definitely be in the next. Hattie leaves to cherish and celebrate her life two children, Valerie Taylor of Georgetown, DE and Stephen Taylor (Michelle) of Laurel, DE; four sisters, Jean Johnson (Gordy) of Georgetown, DE, Linda Lawrence of Georgetown, DE, Alberta Coley (James) of Plantation, FL and Delores Mitchell (Daniel) of Newark, DE; two brothers, Albert Lawrence, Jr. (Chandra) of Montgomery, AL and Melvin Lawrence of Lewes, DE; four grandchildren, Valtoya, Kevaughn, Natasha and Malik; two great-grandchildren, Vakendre and Valtoria; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Hattie was preceded in death by both of her parents, Albert and Hattie Lawrence; her husband, Ernest L. Kollock, Sr.; two brothers, Hames Miller and Frederick Lawrence, Sr.; and a niece, Alisa D.
