Guy W. Robinson Sr.

Guy William Robison, Sr., entered into entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, January, 1, 2019, at Pinnacle Rehabilitation and Health Center, Smyrna, Delaware. Guy was born on February 3, 1937, to the late Mary E. Deshields Robinson and Harrison Edward Robinson, in Seaford, Delaware. In spite of his illness, he was a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. Guy received his elementary education in Seaford, Delaware, at Paul Lawrence Dunbar Elementary School and at an early age, he started driving trucks for various companies, such as, Reed Trucking Company, Milton, Delaware and Diamond Material Trucking Company, New Castle, Delaware. He also owned his own trucking company before retiring in 1983. After retirement, he drove charter buses for Bennie Smith Company and Chambers Bus Services. He met many people and enjoyed talking and laughing with them. Guy was instrumental in starting the Robinson Wonders Gospel Singers and became their manager. They were well known on the East Coast. Living in Capital Park, Guy became the “Watch Dog” for a number of years, as he sat in his truck, keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood, especially the children. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and singing gospel music with his brothers. In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” E. Reddix; son, Saviust William Robinson; seven brothers, Alfred Robinson, Thomas L. Robinson, Harrison Robinson, Charles Robinson, David Robinson, Samuel Robinson and Frank Robinson and sisters, Sarah Sturgis and Katharine Deshields. Guy leaves to cherish his memory, four sons, Guy William Robinson, Jr. and Nakia Brown of Dover, DE, Guy William Brummel of Woodside, DE and Terrell Brummel of Wilmington, DE; two daughters, Claressa Robinson of Dover DE and Deborah Brummel of Greensboro, NC; son-in-law, Michael F. Reddix of Dover, DE; sister, Mildred Spence (Charles) of Woodside, DE; three sisters-in-law, Mildred “Millie” Robinson of Wilmington, DE and Selma Shaw and Elora Lee both of Raleigh, NC; three brothers-in-law, Bobby Mollock of Delmar, DE, Freddie Mollock of Warwick, RI and Ricky Brown of Raleigh, NC; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Guy William Robinson, Sr., will truly be missed by his family and friends. His loving and giving spirit will never be forgotten. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you.
