Goldsboro Milbourne

Obituary Goldsboro Milbourne, affectionately known as Golby and Pop, made his heavenly transition on March 3, 2018 at his home in Laurel, Delaware. Goldsboro, son of the late Theodore Milbourne and Priscilla Waters Milbourne was born on September 13, 1925 in Snow Hill, MD. Golby received his education in Worcester County. He started working at a very young age. His employment included Nocks Farms, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, and Old Mill Crab House. Golby received Christ in his life under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Palmer Sr. at Snow Hill Deliverance Center. Most recently he was a member of Cathedral of Restoration in Salisbury, MD. He loved singing and was a former member of the Mt. Wesley Methodist Men. One of his favorite songs was “Your Grace and Mercy.” Golby was like a magnet. Everyone gravitated to him. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. He called everyone “baby” no matter how young or how old. He loved helping others. You could always find him on the road taking someone to the store. He continued driving until his family took his keys from him. Some of his hobbies were cooking, playing dominoes, watching The Price is Right, Family Feud, and old westerns. Goldsboro Milbourne was joined in holy matrimony to Amanda Ellen Shockley in 1948. They were blessed with seven children, Edward (Joan) Milbourne of Frankford, DE, Randolph Milbourne of Pocomoke City, MD, Grace Drummond of Wilmington, DE, Elsie Milbourne of Snow Hill, MD, Shirley Beckett of Salisbury, MD, Joyce Hitchens of Laurel, DE, and Barbara (Jerry) Jenkins of Salisbury, MD. Amanda Ellen Shockley Milbourne preceded him in death in 1997. Golby later married Geraldine Tull. From this union he leaves 6 stepchildren, Kenneth Tull (Lolita) of Philadelphia, PA, Constance Ballard of Berlin, MD, Robert Tull (Cordelia), of Stockton, MD, Anthony Tull (Catherine) of Westover, MD, Teresa Marshall of Pocomoke City, MD, and Andrew Marshall (Jackie) of Georgetown, DE. Geraldine Tull Milbourne preceded him in death in 2017. He also leaves loving memories with his brother, Walter Milbourne of Snow Hill, MD, 34 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, 62 great-great grandchildren. Four sister in laws: Frances Tull of Fayetteville, NC; Gertrude Shockley of Snow Hill, MD; Dorothy Shockley of Berlin, MD; and Leola Shockley, of Salisbury, MD. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Also preceding him in death were 8 siblings; Theodore Jr, Wilbert Sr, Charlie, Ella, Julia, Frances, Esther, and Elizabeth; a son in law, Thurron Hitchens; a daughter in law, Ochie Milbourne; two grandsons, Terrence Milbourne and Myron Suggs; a granddaughter, Shawndell Oney; a great grandson, Derek Drummond; a great granddaughter, Sadirah Milbourne; as well as several sisters in law and brothers in law.
