Faye’s Legacy of Love “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 A Time To Be Born Faye Stallsworth was one of 11 children born to the late Eva Russ and Charles Colburn. A Time To Plant Faye was introduced to Christ at an early age. She attended Mt. Joy United Methodist Church in Wilmington which was the family church. It was here that she was baptized, attended regularly and assisted in many of the church ministries. Faye was educated in the Wilmington school system and graduated as the valedictorian of her high school class. Faye considered herself a computer buff. She was quite the whiz on computers and enjoyed researching, playing games, and reading the latest news. Her computer savvy allowed her to find and decipher problems skillfully and quickly. Faye was also recognized as a great seamstress who mastered fashion. Additionally, the community and family appreciated her creativity as a beautician. A Time To Laugh Faye was full of fun. There were so many family gatherings where she brought laughter and joy. Her smile and laughter would light up the room. She loved music, dancing, playing cards, cooking and socializing. Family and friends would clamor for her delicious meals. For her, laughter was infectious, and everyone present felt her love. A Time To Love Faye met, fell in love, and married the love of her life, Sylvern “J.D.” Stallsworth. For 54 years, she was a devoted wife, helpmate, and friend. Because of J.D.’s military status, Faye traveled and enjoyed the world. Throughout her life, she gave generously to family, friends, and community. As a strong and loving mother, she raised three children who are reflections of her steadfast beliefs and morals: Howard, Cheryl and Tonya. A Time To Mourn Above all, Faye was God’s child. While peacefully asleep, she received her eternal reward on Saturday, August 18, 2018, when God called her home. Faye does not want us to mourn; but to remember the good times and how we got over the bad times. Remember the smiles, laughter and the joy. Most of all, remember she is at peace. She is preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. Faye’s love will last forever in the hearts of her husband, J.D.; three children, Howard Turner, Cheryl Abdullah and Tonya Stallsworth; eight grandchildren, Maile, Ginger, Brittany, Alia, and Yaminah Turner and Ihsan, Nazir, and Atiah Abdullah; seven great grandchildren; extended family and close friends.
