Evelyn Farrare

EVELYN FARRARE’S JOURNEY Evelyn (DeLarge) Farrare, a resident of Vienna, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of ninety-five (95), surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Evelyn was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 13, 1929, to the late Daniel and Lelar (Gates) DeLarge. Evelyn was blessed with seven sisters and three brothers, all of whom preceded her in death. Evelyn attended school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and married her sweetheart William (Andrew) Farrare on December 21, 1943, (who also preceded her in death). Evelyn diligently worked many jobs to support her family and was a devoted sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great grandmother. Evelyn worked at North Dorchester High School until she retired. During retirement, she enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, cooking, raising chickens, playing cards, shopping, encouraging everyone around her and traveling. No one made sweet potato bread and pie, applesauce cake, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, ribs, and chicken and dumplings with her ease and grace. She was consistently kind, always giving, most optimistic, and forever helpful – a woman who demonstrated unshakeable faith and God’s love to everyone in her daily life. She leaves these to celebrate her legacy: nine children, Emma Brisco Izair) of Cambridge, MD, William, Jr. (Ellen) of Glen Burnie, MD, Marie Ackerman (Howard) of Vienna, MD, Brenda West (Ernest) of Rhodesdale, MD, Reginald Farrare of Queenstown, MD, Marlene Beasley (Johnny, Sr.), Anthony Farrare of Baltimore, MD, Andrenette Cooper (Derwin) of Clinton, MD and Andre Farrare (Lenora) of Baltimore, MD; four adopted children, Richard Beasley (Shaquita) of Wilmington, DE, Victoria Beasley of Easton, MD, Lamont Farrare of Bronx, NY and Tyericia Farrare of Vienna, MD; two foster children, Ricardo Diggs and Crystal Diggs, both of Baltimore, MD; three sisters-in-law, Naomi Farrare, Hazel Simmons (Stephen) and Geraldine Farrare, all of Philadelphia, PA; thirty-three (33) grandchildren; forty (40) great grandchildren; twenty (20) great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to all of her siblings, Evelyn was preceded in death by two grandsons, Cordell and Timothy Farrare and one great-grandson, Austen Hill. SUBMITTED WITH LOVE ~ THE FAMILY
