ETHEL’S JOURNEY Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saints Psalm 115:16 Ethel Caroline Bailey was born on September 28, 1942 to the late John Samuel Duncan, Sr. and Dorothy Deal Duncan in Salisbury, Maryland. She peacefully transitioned to her eternal home in Glory at 4:22pm on Thursday after her courageous battle with a short health issue. After the passing of her parents, things were never the same. She received her education in the Wicomico County school system. Ethel’s work history included becoming a professional in the nursing field, before retiring after several years. Ethel’s Christian life started at a very young age. She was member of the Trinity Holiness Church in Laurel, Delaware, where she was very active in different singing groups. Her Number (1) group was the Duncan Sisters, Mary Ann, Dot Dean, and Ethel. This group started at the ages between 6 and 8 years old. As we grew, she joined other groups including the Overland Gospel Singers, the church choir and others, under the leadership of Pastor Bishop Tommy Thompson. She really enjoyed church and after she moved to California, her Christ-centered life continued. In her spare time, Ethel enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, and singing. Ethel is lovingly survived by: her (11) children, Minister M. Yvonne Abdullah of Salisbury, Maryland, Evangelist E. Lorraine Bailey and Melvin Bailey, Jr. of Southern California, Minister “Mi” Michelle A. Hutchins of North Carolina, Erradonna, Jasmine, Jimmy and Angel Bailey of Southern California, William Fountaine of Eden, Maryland, Raymond (NiKi) of Florida, and Paulette of New Jersey; (2) sisters Dorothy Winder of Salisbury, Maryland and Pastor Mary Ann Sawyer of New Jersey; (4) sisters-in-law, Pauline White and Jeanette Coleman, both of Salisbury, Maryland, Lorraine Bailey-Neal of Delaware and Juanita Bailey of Venton, Maryland; (2) brothers-in-law, Fortune Bailey of Princess Anne, Maryland and Marcus Bailey of Salisbury, Maryland; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Bailey, Sr. her parents, John Samuel Duncan, Sr. and Dorothy Deal Duncan; one sister, Sarah Deal Pope and two brothers, Kenneth Andrew Duncan and Samuel Curtis Duncan. “Let The Work I’ve Done Speak For Me”
