ELWOOD’S LIFE It is with saddened hearts that we share with you that Elwood James Taylor passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving and supportive family on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland at the age of sixty-eight (68). Born on April 16, 1952, he was the oldest son of the late Edna Reynolds Cooper and William Taylor. His baby brother, Richard, born in 1953 died as an infant. Elwood was a 1970 graduate of Pocomoke High School. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He was not a lazy man. Employed at various jobs, he retired in 2017 from E.D. Holland and Sons, Inc. in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Elwood met his companion, Regina Scarborough, over thirty (30) years ago and together, they both raised her three children - Vernon (Bo), Eugina (G), and Sheena. Elwood loved the outdoors. He loved working with his hands. You would often see him using his skills in gardening and fixing things. He was a quiet person who never complained and was loved by all who made his acquaintance. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Elwood is survived by: his companion, Regina Scarborough; her three children, Vernon Scarborough (Jeanette) of Lubbock, TX, Eugina Scarborough Holden (George) of Glen Burnie, MD and Sheena Ewell of Pocomoke City, MD; her 12 grandchildren, Kayla Wheeless, Kaniah Wheeless, Deanna Bryant, Namir Holden, Donovan Bryant, Nasir Holden, Vernon Scarborough, Jr., Javion Scarborough, Jaliyah Scarborough, Wynter Scarborough, Jalani Scarborough, and Janayshia Scarborough; four aunts, Louise Brittingham of Pocomoke City, MD, June Ann Roberts of Washington, DC, Alice Hemmeian (Larry) of Laurel, MD and Rose Mary Harmon (Gary) of Richmond, VA; two uncles, Edward Brittingham, Sr. (Florence) of Pocomoke City, MD and Ernest Brittingham, Jr. Stockton, MD; one great aunt; a host of cousins and many other relatives and friends. Elwood was preceded in death by his parents, brother, grandparents, Ernest and Nellie Brittingham and aunt, Peggy Brittingham Collins.
