Elwood Wilson Hutt, Jr’s. Journey... Elwood Wilson Hutt, Jr., affectionately known as Junebug, departed this life on Friday, May 28, 2021 after succumbing to his illness in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Junebug was born in Salisbury, Maryland on Thursday, May 18, 1950 to the late Elwood Wilson Hutt, Sr. and Georgia Virginia Hutt. Junebug was united in holy matrimony to Romanda Leatherbury on November 4, 1972 and from this union they were blessed with two children, Shanelle Hutt-Elmore and the late Yolanda Hutt-Griffin. After receiving his formal education in the Wicomico County public school system, Junebug enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1972. After completing his tour of duty, he came back home and pursued his love of truck driving. He made truck driving his career and was a driver for over thirty (30) years. Junebug was a free-spirited, fun and loving person. He was known for his sense of fashion and took great pride in his wardrobe. By nature, he was a comical person who loved to laugh and, intentionally or not, make other people laugh as well. Junebug could not remember or pronounce people’s names properly so he would give them a name and that is what he referred to them as indefinitely, sometime from birth. Junebug was kind and generous and did not mind lending a helping hand. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Junebug was a member of the Mattadores band where he played the saxophone. Whenever he was with his brothers, he loved to talk and laugh about the good old band days. Juneburg leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Romanda Hutt of Princess Anne, Maryland; a daughter, Shanelle Hutt-Elmore (Jamie) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; a son, Jamal Pinkston of Wilmington, Delaware; his brothers, Richard Hutt (Marguerite) of Princess Anne, Maryland, Jerry Hutt and sister, Diane Hutt, both of Salisbury, Maryland; an aunt, Beulah Hutt of Salisbury, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Troy Smith of Princess Anne, Maryland, Shayla and Tia Smith, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jamee and Jorden Elmore, both of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Terrell and Rhakim Pinkston, both of Wilmington, Delaware; three great grandchildren, Tro’Ani and Tori Smith, both of Princess Anne, Maryland and K’Moni Hodnett of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a son-in-law, Terrence Griffin of Virginia Beach, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly. Junebug was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood, Sr. and Georgia, a sister, Betty Anne Hutt, a daughter Yolanda Hutt-Griffin, uncles, Edgard, Vaughn, Robert, Melvin and James and aunts, Hazel, Thelma, Roxie, Edith, and Dorothy.
