Elmer Louis/Lewis Dobson

Elmer Louis Dobson, affectionately known as “Brennieman” was born June 20, 1941, to the late Frank Copper and Frances Blackwell, and, due to the loss of his mother, was adopted at the age of six months by the late Lottie Mae Dobson. He departed this life at the age of 76, on December 9, 2017, while under Hospice Care in Centreville, MD. Elmer received his education at Moton High School in Easton, MD. In 1961, he met and married Esther Victoria Holland. From this union, were born five children. He later fathered three more children. In his later years, he married Ann Dobson, only to lose her a few years later. He then met and married Mable Lee Dobson. Elmer began working at a young age, and had worked numerous jobs over the years. He enjoyed watching and going to different sporting events, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed cooking, as well as spending time with family and friends. Elmer was sharp as a tack when it came to dressing and he loved his hats. Elmer was a member of the American Legion Blake-Blackston Post #77, of Easton, MD. He was also a member of the VFW Post #7464, of Grasonville, MD. Sometime later he married the late Ann Dobson. He then met and married Mable Lee Dobson. In addition to his biological parents, adoptive parents, and first two wives, Elmer was also preceded in death by four brothers; Raymond, Frank, Linwood and Norman; and five sisters; Rejeana, Frances, Aleatha, Catherine and Viola. He leaves to cherish precious memories, his wife, Mable Dobson of Stevensville, MD; brother, Walter Copper of Florida; two sisters, of Easton, MD and Delphine Smith of Philadelphia, PA; five sons, Elmer Dobson (Linda) of Cambridge, MD, Vincent Dobson (Jametta) of Chesterfield, VA, Roger Dobson of Easton, MD, Bryan Dobson (Rhonda) of Laurel, DE and Jason Dickerson of Baltimore, MD; three daughters, Lisa Dobson of Easton, MD, Alicia Parker and Raynell Dickerson, both of Cambridge, MD; stepson, Glen Sturdivant of Grasonville, MD; a very special friend, David Clark of Grasonville, MD; mother-in-law, Melvina Clark of Grasonville, MD; along with a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him dearly, but he will forever remain in their hearts.
