Elder Henry Lloyd Appleby Jr.

His Life On June 22, 2023, Elder Henry Lloyd Appleby, Jr., at the age of seventy (70), a resident of Salisbury, MD, passed away unexpectedly in Newport News, Virginia. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death, however, are comforted that he is resting in the arms of The Lord. Elder Henry was born on April 21, 1953 in Claxton, Georgia. He grew up in Salisbury, Maryland and graduated from Wicomico Senior High School in 1972. Elder Henry worked for Acme Food Markets prior to his time at Campbell Soup Company until it closed. His later years were with the Wicomico County school system in environmental services. He was Assistant Pastor of Trinity Tabernacle Church and Community Center after the passing of his father, Pastor Henry Lloyd Appleby. Elder Henry had a great love for Gospel Music which took up a great amount of his time away from work. He provided equipment and setup support to many local gospel music groups in the area. Elder Henry was an active participant with the gospel group Bridgette and Friends Community Choir, Trinity Tabernacle Choir, and the Lower Eastern Shore COGIC Choir. He was also a retired United States Army veteran. Elder Henry had great love for all people and was lovingly referred to by his nieces and nephews as the “fun Uncle”, exposing them to scary movies, action films, and kung foo fight films! He found great joy in being a father and grandfather in these last few years. Elder Henry is survived by his only son Henry Lloyd Appleby III and his grandchildren: Neveah Appleby, Makhai Appleby and Preston Foskey. He leaves to mourn: six siblings, Priscilla Appleby, Pastor Daniel C. Appleby (Veronica), Pastor TJ Appleby (Anitra), David Appleby, Nathan L. Appleby and Nathaniel B. Appleby. He has one aunt of Salisbury, Maryland, Clarissa Hunter (Robert Lee). His nieces and nephews include: Daniel Ray Appleby, David Carter, Ladwyna Evans, Farrah Lively, Kienda Goslee, Tyra Appleby, Jason Walker, Nathan Appleby, Jr., Keona Appleby, Thomas Appleby, Jr., and Danelle McNair. He had a “sonship” relationship with Kyle Warren over the past many years. He is also survived by a host of aunts, cousins, and friends covering Kingston Jamaica, Claxton Georgia, England, and Canada. Elder Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Elder Henry Lloyd Appleby and Mother Gertie Mae Appleby. Elder Henry, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Daddy, Grandfather – Good Night!
