Edward L. Milbourne

Edward Lee Milbourne, affectionately known as Ed, made his heavenly transition on May 11, 2020, at Atlantic General Hospital, after a short illness. Edward, son of the late Goldsboro and Amanda Milbourne, was born on January 5, 1944, in Snow Hill, Maryland. As a child, Edward attended Church of God in Christ and Hutt’s Memorial United Methodist Church in Snow Hill, Maryland. Later in life, he attended St. John 2nd Baptist Church in Millsboro, Delaware, under the leadership of Pastor Annie Custis. Edward received his education in Worcester County Schools. He enlisted in the Army after high school. He was honorably discharged after four years of service. Edward was employed for Campbell Soup for over twenty years. After Campbell Soup’s closing, he started a new career with Mountaire Farms, Inc. in Selbyville, Delaware, for 37 years, until he retired. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and eating, playing cards and dominos, watching westerns, and taking care of his grandsons, Corey and Kaymann. Preceding Ed in death were his sons, Terrence Lamont Milbourne and Myron DeAngelo Suggs. Ed leaves cherished memories, with his wife of 18 years, Joan; his daughters, Gail Milbourne Nolton of Paterson, New Jersey and Titania (Isaac Sr) Whaley of Lincoln, Delaware; son, Calvin Suggs of Felton, Delaware; granddaughters, Nicole Milbourne and Kayla Milbourne, both of Paterson, New Jersey and Tanesha Suggs of Frankford, Delaware, grandsons; Shawn Godwin of Frankford, Delaware, Chance Godwin of Federalsburg, Maryland, Kaymann Jacquet and Corey Simms both of Frankford, Delaware, Bryan Suggs of Texas, Isaac Whaley, Jr of May Port, Florida; brothers, Randolph Milbourne of Pocomoke City, Maryland and Joe (Dorothy) Deshields of Ocean City, Maryland; sisters, Grace Drummond of Wilmington, Delaware, Elsie Milbourne of Snow Hill, Maryland, Shirley Beckett of Salisbury, Maryland, Joyce Hitchens of Laurel, Delaware and Barbara Jenkins (Jerry) of Salisbury, Maryland; mother-in-law, Laura Hopkins; sisters-in-law; Jacqueline (Ivory) Williams and Stephanie (Keith) Hopkins all of Millsboro, Delaware. Ed also leaves loving memories with his special aunt, Frances Tull of Fayetteville, NC and three other aunts, Gertrude Shockley of Snow Hill, Maryland; Dorothy Shockley of Berlin, Maryland and Leola Shockley, of Salisbury, Maryland. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
