Edith V Brown

THE OBITUARY For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. II Corinthians 5:1 (KJV) Edith Virginia Brown, was born April 3, 1939, in Hurlock, MD, to the late Deacon Wilmer A. Jenkins, Sr. and Evangelist Cassie E Jenkins-Palmer. She was the 1st of thirteen children born to this union. Edith departed this life, March 11, 2023. Edith gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and began her work for the Lord. She was a member of Clarence Street Church of God, Seaford, DE from her youth up. She sang in the Mass Choir and held other positions throughout the years at Clarence Street church. At the age of 83, Edith was still winning souls to Christ; telling the residents about Jesus. A name she never forgot, a Savior she continued to serve. She Finished Strong. “Boots”, as she was affectionately called, received her education in the Seaford School District and attended the William C. Jason Comprehensive High School, in Georgetown, DE. Boots was more than a sister. Being the oldest of thirteen children she was baby sitter, chief cook and bottle washer; but most of all, Boots was our best friend. When you got in trouble, you could count on Boots to be there on your side, fighting your battle with you. On July 21, 1956, Edith was joined in Holy Matrimony to Robert Camper. From this union was born one son, Larry L. Camper. She later married William Brown “Sookie” on December 3, 2011. Edith was preceded in death by both her husbands. Edith was employed by Pinnacle Foods (Vlasic), in Millsboro, DE for many decades. She loved her coworkers; they became like family. Prior to working for Pinnacle Foods, she was employed by Dulany Foods located in Bridgeville, DE. Again, where the co-workers were friends. Edith was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald, Ronald and Wilmer Jenkins, and two sisters: Ada Jenkins and Mary Walker. Edith leaves to cherish her memory, One son: Larry L. Camper (Debra) of Bowie, MD. Two special daughters: Kayla Brown and Liz Brown. Three Grandchildren: Lauren Camper, Deidre Camper, Larry “CJ” Camper (Ayanna, fiancé). Three Great-Grandchildren: Aniyah Hill, Adrian Hill, Khloe’ Carr. Five Brothers: Frank, William, Ivory, Sr. (Janice), Leonard and Sylvester Jenkins. Two Sisters: Lucy Teagle (Charles) and Vicki Salley (David Darnell), Sister-in-Law: Dorothy Jenkins, Four Godchildren: Patti Teagle, Ivory Jenkins, Jr., Joy Shuler and David Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.
