Eartha Nadine Banks (Horsey)

Eartha Nadine Banks was born February 1, 1954 in Laurel, Delaware to the late Oliver and Laura Catherine Horsey. She graduated from James H. Groves School in Georgetown, Delaware. She was united in holy matrimony on May 16, 1980 to Gregory “Jackie” Banks, the love of her life. They were married for 37 years. She enjoyed cooking, playing games, watching tv, and spending valuable time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She was very outspoken. Eartha was self-employed as a Daycare Provider, loving, nurturing and guiding children for over 14 years, until her health started failing. Eartha received the Lord as her personal savior in 1985 under the leadership of the late Dr. Catherine A. Camper of United Deliverance Bible Center of Laurel, Delaware. She later became a member of Kingdom Life Family Ministries, Incorporated of Millsboro, Delaware under the leadership of Apostle Helena M. and Pastor Hayward Bailey. She was a Sunday School teacher, an usher, and part of the “make-shift” choir. She was the “Diva” of the church. She also received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from the satellite of Enlightened Bible Institute of Millsboro, Delaware. Eartha loved reading the Word of God. Preceding her in death were her parents, Oliver and Laura Catherine Horsey and one brother, Oliver Horsey, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Gregory Banks of Frankford, DE; her stepmother, Augusta Scarborough of Mappsville, VA; her children, Rakkim Banks of Georgetown, DE and Basim Banks of Seaford, DE; two brothers, Telly Horsey of Exmore, VA and Ryan (Portia) Horsey of New Church, VA; three sisters, Paula (Keith) Jones of Bridgeville, DE; Brandy (Oskie) Frazier of Mappsville, VA; and Ebony Horsey of Mappsville, VA; five sisters-in-law, Sharon Banks of Baltimore, MD; Karen Crawford of Seaford, DE; Amelia Pinketts of Federalsburg, MD; Patricia Frisby of Seaford, DE; & Stacey Batson of Bridgeville, DE; one brother, Orlando Banks of Princess Anne, MD; one grandchild, Analiyah Banks of Laurel, DE, one aunt, Ruth Dorsey of Baltimore, MD; and two uncles, Charles (Geraldine) Horsey of Laurel, DE; William Goslee of Philadelphia, PA; a special sister, Joan Maloney of Milford, DE; special friends, Candy Irvin of Seaford, DE; Pat Green, of Federalsburg, MD; Pastor Marian Kilgoe of Seaford, DE; Rosalind Taylor of Frederica, DE; Irene Adkins and Phyllis Bailey of Frankford, DE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
