Earl Leroy Collick, Sr. As long as hearts remember, as long as hearts still care we do not part with those we love they're with us everywhere. Earl Leroy Collick, Sr., transitioned peacefully from this earthly life to eternal rest, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his home in Lanham, Maryland. He was born April 22, 1940 in Stockton, Maryland to the late Elroy and Thelma Collick. Earl’s childhood began in Stockton, where he attended school and St. Paul United Methodist Church. He worked in the chicken industry with Buddy Boys in Snow Hill, Maryland, Golden Pride, in Stockton, and Perdue Farms in Salisbury, Maryland. He later moved to Hyattsville, Maryland. He was Supervisor of Janitorial services at the University of Maryland College Park, and Supervisor of Janitorial services at TGI Friday’s. He later found a passion for detailing cars and worked for Lincoln Mercury DAR cars in Marlo Heights, Maryland, and Y2k used cars in Beltsville, Maryland; he also did small jobs with his friend, the late James Joyce. He attended Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, in Washington, D.C. We can all rejoice in knowing that He accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Earl was a lifelong car fan. He spent many days, polishing, waxing and above all, enjoying his cars. He knew everything about them, no matter the model, and was the go-to person in the family if you were ever in the market for a new ride. He always had the most untouched car on the block and took great pride in his work, a bit symbolic for how he lived, anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Earl knew of his warmth, big-heartedness, love of family and calm spirit. He never met a stranger. He was kind, humble, giving and had a smile that could light up a room. He and “Ronnie” frequently and generously opened their home to entertain and welcome a host of family and friends, as he selflessly put others first. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Veronica, children: Melinda Collick, Pocomoke, Maryland, Earl Collick, Jr. (Shelia) and Amanda Collick, Stockton, Maryland, Clara Hall (Wayne), Claymont, Delaware, Adam Collick, Hyattsville, Maryland, Dana (Tish) Collick, Berlin, Maryland, and Rodney Douglas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 23 Grandchildren, 32, great-grandchildren, sisters; Helen Martin, Silver Spring, Maryland and Anna Milbourne, Pocomoke, Maryland. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and his Best Friend, “Cinnamon”. Earl was preceded in death by his brothers: June Mason, Lester Collick, Elroy “Bud” Collick, James Collick and sister, Edna Shrieves. Sorrowfully Submitted, The Family
