Douglas Wainwright Dashield Jr.

Douglas Wainwright Dashield, Jr., affectionately known as “Douggie or “Doug”, was born on November 25, 1980, in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Douglas W. Deshield, Sr. and Priscilla Dashield. He departed this earthly life on June 30, 2026 at University of Maryland Center Medical Center. Doug was a loving son, devoted brother, caring uncle, proud godfather, cherished cousin, and loyal friend. He graduated from Parkside High School and continued his education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland. Doug was employed at Bay Harbor Post Acute in Salisbury, Maryland, where he took great pride in his work. He loved his job and was known as a hardworking, dependable and dedicated employee. His kindness, compassion and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on both his coworkers and those for whom he cared. To know Douggie was to love him. He had a larger-than-life personality, infectious smile, and a heart full of love. He had a special way of making everyone around him feel welcome and appreciated. Whether it was sharing a joke, offering words of encouragement, or simply being present, Doug had a gift for lifting the spirits of those around him. His laughter was contagious, his sense of humor unforgettable, and his love for family and friends was genuine and unwavering. Doug was truly the life of the party. Everyone knew that if Douggie was attending a family gathering of celebration, there would be laughter, joy and unforgettable memories. He loved spending time with his family, making people laugh, listening to music and enjoying life’s simple moments. His warm spirit, generous heart, and ability to bring people together will forever be remembered. The precious memories of Douggie’s life will always be cherished by: his loving mother, Priscilla Deshield; his brother, DeAndre Deshield; his sister, Darchella Parker; his beloved goddaughter, Brooklyn Palmer and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who loved him deeply and will miss him beyond measure. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Douglas W. Deshields, his grandmothers, Christine White and Ruth Dashield and his grandfathers, George White, Sr., Thomas Dashield and Thomas Cuff. Though Doug’s journey on earth has ended, his love laughter, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. His legacy of kindness, joy and unconditional love will never be forgotten.
