Doretha Marie Williams

Doretha Marie Williams, 66, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025 in Wilmington, Delaware. Born on February 4, 1958 in Laurel, Delaware, she was the beloved daughter of Matthew Alexander Kenney and Beulah Mae Williams (née Fooks). Doretha had a beautiful smile that could light up a room! She was well-known for being very intelligent and focused on her goals by all who were blessed to have known her. Many thought of her as a classy professional who was also very inspiring. One of the things about Doretha that many didn't know was that she would visit patients unknown to her and pray with them at local hospitals in her personal free time. Immediately after graduating from Laurel High School, Doretha worked for many years as an administrative assistant at E.I. DuPont Nemours & Company in Seaford, Delaware while attending night school at Delaware Community College and completing bachelor's and master's degrees in business and administration from Wilmington College. After completing her MBA, Doretha was promoted to a role as a Buyer at a DuPont location in Wilmington, Delaware. Doretha's most rememberable career was as a prominent real estate agent. She worked for several firms, including Patterson Schwartz, Remax, and Century 21. For many of her active years as a real estate agent, she had full page ads in the Delaware News Journal to advertise homes she was selling across Delaware. Doretha is survived by former spouses Karnie L. Jones and Riley E. Ames, her children Paul Otis Williams (co-parent Paul Fogg) and Michele Natasha Allen (née Ames, née Williams, née Williams-Harry, co-parent James K. Albury), her grandchildren Daisia Monique Williams, Julien Lewis Harry (son-in-law Hammond L. Harry), and Elijah Zane Allen (son-in-law Din C. Allen), her great grandchildren Aubrielle and Amirion Reyes-Colon, and siblings Eugene Kenney (Mildred), Bobby V. Williams, Pearline Williams, Kirkie Williams (Teresa), Marguerite Hall (née Kenney), Martina Clark (née Williams), Cyril Kenney (Stacy), Tyree Williams (Sandra), and Mitchlean Williams. Doretha was predeceased by her parents, sister Juanita P. Horsey (née Williams), brothers Sharlon N. Williams, Robert A. Williams, and Donel L. Williams.
