Dontray Jamar Hendricks departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Port Mahon, Delaware. Dontray was born on October 31, 1991 in Dover, Delaware, to Donna Marie Hendricks and Harold Stevenson. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Isaac Carter, Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Sandra Stevenson and his aunt, Belinda Faye Lewis. Dontray's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by his life understood the quality of his life exceeded the quantity of time in which he lived. His gentle smile and the light in his eyes could melt the heart of those around him. He had a big heart, he loved deeply and would always show love, care and concern to his mom-mom, Mary N. Carter. Dontray enjoyed life and with his passing, it reminds us that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, he will forever remain in our hearts. Dontray was educated in the Capital School District and graduated from Dover High School in June 2011. His last place of employment was at Boston Market in Dover, DE as a food service employee. He had a big heart and a quiet spirit. He enjoyed playing basketball and video games. Dontray loved the water and you would often find him on the beach relaxing. He loved football and was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Dontray leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted great-grandmother/mom, Mary N. Carter who raised him from birth; two sons Dontray J. Hendricks, Jr. and D'Angelo J. Hendricks; mother, Donna Marie Hendricks and her children; sisters, Andrea Hendricks, Cherrelle Hendricks and Deandrea Hendricks; brother, Tyrell Hendricks; father, Harold Stevenson and his children; brothers, Janaid White, Reggie Johnson, Isaac Johnson and Dion Thomas and sister, Natasha Teagues; grandmother, Barbara Horton; step-grandfather, Clarence Hendricks, Sr. and his wife, Jeanette; maternal grandfather, Donald Hughes; paternal grandfather, Aubrey Stevenson; siblings, Isaac Carter, Jr., Diane Wilson and husband, Walter, Jacqueline Watkins, Deborah Wilson, Gary Carter and wife, Sue, Michael Carter and wife, Sandra; aunts, Esther Brown and Kiesta Hendricks; uncles, Michael Hendricks and Clarence Hendricks, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
