Donald Q. Fisher Jr.

Donald Q. Fisher Jr., son of the late Donald Q. Fisher, Sr., and Willow Mae Fisher, was born on Saturday, April 8, 1961, in Wilmington, Delaware. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, while under the awesome care of Seasons Hospice & Pallative Care at Christiana Hospital. Donnie was one of seven brothers. He received his early education in the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware, and graduated from Howard High School in 1979. Donnie stood out as a track star and distinguished honor student. He went to St. Augustine College in Raleigh, North Carolina, to become an architect. He later enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he helped serve our country. After serving in the military, Donnie lived in Boston, Massachusetts, and worked for the United States Postal Service. He later moved back to Delaware, where he worked various jobs until he became ill and was placed in the care of Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill. He loved reading comic books and had a large collection of them. His favorite color was red. Growing up, we fought like cats and dogs, but once we went out in public, we acted like little angels! Dad and Mom kept us in line once we left the house. People couldn't believe how well mannered we were. But if only they knew how we were when we got back home. We were like little Tasmanian devils among each other, but no one could come between us. As kids we loved betting on football games with our little nickels, dimes and quarters. We thought we were like the Jackson 5; Demetrius played the Drums, Donnie played the trumpet, Danny played the guitar and thought he was Michael Jackson as the lead singer, Darrell played the guitar, and Donnell tried to play the organ and thought he was Jermaine Jackson. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Donald Q. Fisher Sr.; his mother, Willow Mae Fisher; and his brothers, Demetruis C. Fisher and Darrell L. Fisher. Donnie leaves to cherish his memory, four brothers, Jarrett Fisher (Florene) of Catskill, NY, Steve Fisher of Wilmington, DE, Danny Fisher (Joan) of Port Tobacco, MD and Donnell Fisher (Kimberly) of Newark, DE; three aunts, Sandra Coles (Kenneth), Betty Green, and Gloria Henry; one uncle, Norman Fisher; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
