Donald Enormous Butler Sr.

Donald Enormous Butler, Sr. was the son of Aljanette Butler Perry of Vienna, Maryland and the late Clifford Creighton, Sr. Born in Cambridge, Maryland on January 13, 1948, he peacefully departed from his life on this earth on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at home. Donald received his formal education in the public schools of Dorchester County, Maryland. He graduated from Mace’s Lane High School in Cambridge, Maryland in 1966. As a teenager, he worked in the fields for Alvin Pinder. When he became an adult, Donald was employed by Campbell Soup of Salisbury, Maryland for several years, but a majority of his career was spent working at Delmarva Power of Salisbury, Maryland. He worked over 40 years at this location, working several different positions from a lineman, to a truck driver, and other general labor positions. His last position, which was also his favorite, was in parts and service. Donald retired in April of 2016. While Donald was growing up, the radio was very popular because televisions weren’t affordable for all families. They spent a great deal of time listening to music and the news. Donald enjoyed sports and sporting events. He loved participating in basketball games, football, horseshoes, marbles and other games. Donald had a heart of gold. He was person a who was always willing to help others, either from his pockets or by lending a hand. Donald’s leisure time was spent with family – always with nephews, nieces, grandchildren, or other extended family/friends. He especially enjoyed his base station (CB/Radio) where he talked to people on the airways across the United States. His CB handle was Fifteen, Five (15-5). Anyone who was close to him knew he would spend countless hours with his hobby. He was also passionate about Hot Rods. The last one he owned was a 1965 Chevrolet Stepside Pickup, and it was a beauty. Donald leaves to cherish loving memories with: his mother, Aljanette Butler Perry of Vienna, Maryland; his sisters, Romonia Butler of Lewiston, North Carolina, Vernita Butler of Delmar, Delaware, Gineene Williams of Vienna, Maryland, Catrina Creighton of Hurlock, Maryland and Cathleen Creighton of Delmar, Delaware; two brothers, Clifford Creighton, Jr. of California and Adrian “Tony” Creighton of Virginia Beach, Virginia; an ex-wife of 30 years, Thelma Butler; two special sons, Tony Jones and Robert Butler; a godson, Timothy Sykes; five grandchildren, LaTerra Wise, Tyler Jones, Takira Butler, Tachina Butler and Jabraye Walker all of Salisbury, Maryland. Donald also leaves eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. The loved ones who preceded Donald in death include: his father, Clifford Creighton, Sr., a maternal great-grandmother, Mary Carr, maternal grandparents, William and Emma Butler; paternal grandmother, Nettie Creighton Harrison; a stepfather, Sherwood Perry; a sister, Vattisee Butler West; two uncles, Levin and Webster Butler and two nephews, Anthony D. Butler and Charles A.
