Dione R. Dickerson

Dione Renee Dickerson, known to many as “Dee-Dee” was born on April 28, 1975 to Kathleen Patricia Dickerson and the late Clarence Otis Dickerson Sr. She departed this life on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. Dee-Dee received her early education in the Woodbridge School Districts. She attended Woodbridge Elementary School and received her high school diploma from Woodbridge Senior High School in Bridgeville, DE. She later furthered her education at the Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown, DE. Her career of work began at the age of twelve when she approached the Laurel Flea Market and was hired. Several other opportunities presented themselves and she became employed at: McDonalds in Bridgeville, Country Kids in Greenwood, Chimes in Lewes, KSI in Milford, DHL in Greenwood, Salvation Army in Millsboro and ending with her last employment at Kirby and Holloway in Harrington. She was very ambitious and she was no stranger to work. Dee-Dee was well known, loved and respected by everyone she came in contact with. Her smile was contagious and her heart was genuine. Dee-Dee enjoyed life and was often noted as doing the following things, reading various books, taking long walks, sharing conversations with family and friends and expressing her love by sending out greeting cards of encouragement, thinking of you cards, thank-you cards and cards of celebration to whomever God laid on her heart. Her style of dress was preppy and her nails were always beautifully manicured and painted. The greatest event in Dee-Dee’s life was when she became a Born-Again Believer and when she was baptized. She was a member of Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, DE. Her favorite Scriptures were Psalm 21 and Psalm 23. Dee-Dee found comfort listening to her favorite hymn “My Redeemer Lives”. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Otis Dickerson Sr., her granddaughter Brooklyn Drummond, four brothers, Waymond Dickerson, Naymond Dickerson, Clarence Dickerson, Jr., Jeffrey DeShields and a sister, Denise Dickerson. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three daughters, Aleyah Dickerson, Seaford, DE; Jayda Dickerson, Laurel, DE; Mycah Dickerson, Greenwood, DE; a granddaughter, Cali Drummond, Seaford, DE; her mother, Kathleen Dickerson, Greenwood, DE; a brother Larry DeShields (Jerry), Seaford, DE; seven sisters, Carolyn Collie, Milford, DE; Carlette Dickerson, Wilmington, DE; Gwendolyn Fountain, Milford, DE; Lorraine Cooke-Fuentes, Seaford, DE; Patricia DeShields, Milford, DE; Sheila DeShields, Alexandria, LA; Ava Thomas Boatwright (Dean), Charlotte, NC; two uncles, Anthony Wright, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Robert Alford, Lewes, DE; two aunts, Barbara Wright, Camden, NJ; Phyllis Wright, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
