Dennis Boone

A Time to Be Born. Dennis Alexander Boone was born January 10, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Marshall Boone and Elva Oree. He was a twin. A Time of purpose under the Heavens. Dennis grew up in Queens and attended Martin Van Buren High School, in Bayside, where he graduated in 1971. Dennis was a bright student who really loved math, with a gift for calculating distances, lengths and directions by using equations that he learned and mastered for fun. With this ability, he took and easily passed the exam given by the NY Department of Sanitation, where he would work for more than thirty years. Accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Dennis was raised in a Christian household, where he learned the importance of serving God at an early age. After moving to Delaware, he became a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheswold and used his mathematical skill to assist in the development and improvement of the church’s finances and enhanced its ability to provide services for the congregation and community which made it better equipped to perform its most important duty - saving souls for God’s Kingdom. A Time to Give. Everyone who knew Dennis also knew his words were sharp and to the point, he could both chastise and love in an instant. Even though his roar was like a Grizzly bear, his heart was as soft as a Teddy bear. Dennis was selfless, and gave generously of his time and money to his family, friends, Veterans, and other charitable organizations. His ultimate gift, however, was moving to Dover, Delaware. After his retirement, he relocated to take care of his elderly, sick, mother whom he knew needed constant care and attention. Dennis firmly believed in the old adage, “If you want something done correctly, do it yourself” and so he did. So, instead of calling for help to care for his mother, he became that help. Entering into the arms of Jesus. In obedience to our Heavenly Father, Dennis peacefully responded to the Master’s call on October 31, 2016. Gift of Life Donor. Dennis through his compassionate decision to help others through organ, tissue or cornea donation, Dennis provided hope to many who are in need of life saving or life enhancing transplant. A Time To Mourn. Dennis will be mourned by his family: nieces Cheri Fraser, Malkiya Mosley; nephews Anthony Mosley, Lamar Coit, Garry Fraser and Javon Rodd; grand nieces Tyliah Penn, Mesha Mosley; grand nephews Tyshon Penn, Tyheem Penn, Bashawn Mickens, James Mosley, Anthony (Two) Mosley, and Elijah Fraser; his best friend, Bobby Arrington and his brothers from the NY Department of Sanitation department and other devoted family members and friends.
