Demizha Sondrell Romance Sturgis “Demi” was born in Lewes, Delaware, to Lisonya Sturgis of Camden, Delaware, and Alvin Hudson of Federalsburg, Maryland. Demi walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, September 16, 2019, at the precious age of 20. Demi graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware, in June 2017. Before her senior year, she participated in band, playing the tuba. She was employed at Chick-fil-A and Family Dollar. Demi (Demi the Boss) as she would say, loved the Philadelphia Eagles and would also say, “Them Eagles tho, Fly high Fly”. If you knew her, you would know her love for her Eagles just like her uncle Smilez. Whenever you saw her, you would see her with different colors in her hair and mismatched socks. Demi was one of a kind. She was different, bold and did not like anyone around her sad or depressed. She would say “you’re not killing my mood”. Demi was strong and had a mouth like her grandmom Meatcy, who was her joy. Demi enjoyed her family and friends, as well as her best friend Ajah, and her youth at church. She loved her mom’s food, as well as eating out with her mom, although she would always say “mom your food tastes better”. She loved her mom, who was the most important person in her life. Demi loved “church”, was raised in church by her father and mother, and never turned away. She attended New Life Outreach Ministry (which was family) of Federalsburg, Maryland, under the leadership of Pastor Dashon and Co-Pastor Chadney Ennals. She was a youth leader (minister) who was called the Baby Girl of the Church. She also loved praise dancing with her church sisters. Demi was full of love and laughter. She was definitely one of a kind. Fly high Demi the Boss and watch over us all. Demi was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Demetrice Sturgis of Millsboro, DE. Demizha is survived by her parents, LiSonya Sturgis of Camden, DE and Alvin Hudson of Federalsburg, MD; loving siblings, Nancy M. Handy-Cannon, Alvin Dixon, Shy’diazea Dixon and Alzere Handy; godbrothers, Ryshawn Scott, Kwontavious R. Sargent (Ta’Quala); godsister, Ka’myzhanae Kellam; three younger siblings; special cousins, Christopher R. Jones, Jovontay D. Sturgis and Destiny Drummond; maternal grandfather, George Sturgis Jr.; maternal aunts, Nicole Jones- Ayres (Jermaine) and Rozalin Sturgis; maternal uncles, Gerod Sturgis (Stephanie), George Sturgis III, Greg “Smiley G” Sturgis; great grandmother, Mildred Handy-Briddell; godmother, Annjennette Cannon; paternal grandfather, William Hudson; paternal grandmother, Orlando Jones (Lavaugn); paternal uncles, William Drummond, Christopher Drummond, Andrew Harris, and a host of aunts, uncles and friends.
