Delores Hanna

Delores was born in Harlem, New York on February 26, 1951 to the late Mildred Gladden and the late Carl Hanna. Delores was the third child of eight children. Most of her early years were spent in the Bronx, New York. She attended P.S. 112, John Philip Sousa J.H.S., and Evader Childs H.S. After high school, she was employed doing office work. Next, she worked at the United States Post Office as a Mail Sorter and Processor. Delores bore three children -David, Devon and Danere. Additionally, Delores raised two more children as if they were her own Alec and Rhonda. Delores truly enjoyed fellowshipping with her family and friends. Her doors were always open for family and friends to enjoy good food, good competitive games (Dominoes/ Spades), and great conversations. Delores was loving, warm, and easy to embrace. She unselfishly offered herself to others and was genuinely loved by all. The bond Delores shared with her sisters was beautiful to witness. Delores had a fierce love for Jehovah God and symbolized her dedication by water baptism on March 13, 1994. She strongly encouraged her children to draw close to Jehovah. Although Delores was very ill and confined to her bed at home, she resiliently submitted her application to increase her Field Service hours to 30 hours in one month. Amazingly, she completed 33 hours that month by writing letters and witnessing over the phone. Delores was faithful and always commented on the Tie-in Line every week at the Kingdom Hall Service. Delores leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: her five children, David, Devon (Frances), Danere (Darryl), Alec and Rhonda; two grandchildren, Azurè and Devon Jr.; six sisters, Yvonne (William), Carolyn (Bill), Denise (Earl), Antoinette, Julia and Ruth; two brothers, Herbert (Donna) and Harold; one aunt, Florine; one uncle, Richard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
