David Lee DeShields Sr.

David Lee Deshields, Sr. “Duck or Duck Oyster” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was born on February 26, 1961 to the late George Edward Johnson, Jr. and the late Ella Mae Deshields in Salisbury, Maryland. David departed this life for his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. The good news is that David had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior prior to being called home. David was reared by his grand parents, the late Willie & George Johnson, Sr. He received his formal education in the public schools of Worcester County, Maryland. Prior to his illness. David was employed with Paul M. Jones Lumber Company in Snow Hill, Maryland for over 25 years. David was an avid reader. Growing up, you could always find him reading a novel or enjoying his collection of comic books. David enjoyed spending time with his older brother George. He always looked forward to the times when George would pick him up to go visit family and friends. Special times like these, that they spent together, allowed them to bond and reminisce on the good times growing up. David loved everyone he met, unconditionally always willing to help anyone he could. David leaves to cherish his memory: one son, David Deshields, Jr., of Dundalk, MD, and one stepdaughter Jamie Reeder of Salisbury, MD; two brothers, George (Deborah) Johnson of Salisbury, MD, and Kevin Rogers of Niles, OH.; two sisters, Gail (Vincent) Fryer of Niles, OH, and Joyce Deshields-Jones of Salisbury, MD; three aunts, Lula (Richard) Robins of Stockton, MD, Floretta Briddell of Salisbury, MD and Pearl Jackson of Snow Hill, MD; one uncle, Alexander (Georgianna) Johnson of Salisbury, MD; two special cousins Robert (Janie) Waters, Jr. and Stellafay (Steven) Wright, all of Salisbury, MD. He is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ella Mae Deshields and George Johnson, Jr.; his grandparents Willie and George Johnson, Sr.; one aunt Corarain Coston, one uncle Bernie Johnson and one nephew Dejuan Rounds.
