Darlene Rebecca Belote (Mann)

Darlene Rebecca Belote was born in Milford, Delaware to the late Bishop Sam and Marie Palmer on January 26, 1962. She went to her Heavenly home at the age of fifty-seven (57) on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Coastal Hospice by the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland. Darlene’s early years of education were at Fredrick Douglas in Seaford, Delaware. In her 5th grade year, her parents moved to Salisbury, Maryland where she continued her education at Pinehurst Elementary, Bennett Middle and James M. Bennett High School. Darlene was raised in church, as they say. She started at Clarence St. COGIC Church Refuge Temple and Salisbury Revival Center. Bishop Palmer became Pastor of Snow Hill Deliverance Center, where Darlene taught Sunday School for years. Darlene and Larry later became members of Abundant Life Worship Center (ALWC), where the pastors are Jonathan and Linette Willey. She attended faithfully until her health would not allow her to attend. Darlene sang with her husband, Ray and Marlina Belote. On July 16, 1983, Darlene was joined in holy matrimony Larry D. Belote, Sr. To this union, they shared six children-Nakeia, Natasha, Larry , Jr., Ebony, Lara’e and Lashaya. Darlene had many job skills. She worked for Second National Bank, Uniforms Unlimited (BISM), Sysco (Cash and Carry), Bradley’s Market, Ames Department Store, Shore Transit and Worcester County Developmental Center, where she worked until her health would not allow her to continue any longer. Darlene enjoyed traveling with her husband Larry and their friends. Every year, until she could not travel, they went to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for their anniversary where she enjoyed spending time with her girls, shopping, cooking or just hanging out-she loved her girls. She also looked forward to spending time with her brothers and sisters because family was important to Darlene. Darlene leaves to cherish precious memories: her loving husband of thirty-six (36) years, Larry Darnell Belote, Sr.; six children, Nakeia Ezley (Bryant) of Laurel, DE, Natasha Mann of Pocomoke, MD, Larry Belote, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Ebony Mosley (Adrian) of Dover, DE, Larae Belote (Lybrant Graham, Sr.) of Salisbury, MD and Lashaya Belote of Salisbury, MD; three brothers, James Mann (Tammy), Samuel Palmer, Jr. (LaPonda) and Tony Palmer (Arrcssa), all of Salisbury, MD; five sisters, Doreen Bowden (Harvey) of Eden, MD, Lois Sampson (aka Jeanie) of Laurel, DE, Shelia Scarborough (Hayward) and Kimberly Palmer, both of Salisbury, MD and Lisa Preston (Corey) of Orlando, FL; 23 grandchildren; one great grandchild; three aunts, Delores Andrews, Patricia Mann and Rachel Abbott (Calvin), all of Seaford, DE; one uncle, Henry Palmer of Seaford, DE; a special uncle, Anthony Murray of Snow Hill, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop Samuel W. Palmer, Sr. and Evangelist Anna M. Palmer, one brother Lamont Batts and two grandchildren, Jonas and Joel Elzey.
