Daisey Williams

It’s A Celebration Daisey Lee Williams, at the age of eighty-one (81), passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on June 30, 2021 after a long fight with dementia. Daisey was a Wife to the late Herman Williams; she was a Mother to eighteen (18) children and a Friend to many. She was a powerful woman in many ways, especially when it came to Christ Jesus. She was a devoted Christian, a self-taught Pianist and Organist, and a *Pastor to her children. She was a Missionary at Mount Sinai Holy Mission Church in Coverdale Crossroads, in Bridgeville, Delaware and on a regular basis, carried along her children, ensuring that they too knew Christ Jesus. She would attend church services sometimes every day of the week. Many times she would run out of gas, trying to make it to a service. When she preached, she would preach messages of Salvation and how important it was to know who Christ Jesus was and how to reach Him. Daisey later attended Bishop Jesse Abbott’s New Dimension Family Worship Center in Salisbury, Maryland where she was a Missionary, Pianist and Organist. Daisey would take up an entire row of pews to seat her family. Her children would often find her wide awake in the middle of the night, praying to God to save her children. She loved Christ Jesus and wanted to be sure that her children did too. One of her most prized accomplishments was bringing people to Christ. It was her ultimate goal in life and she succeeded. Daisey was also a business woman. She had a Soul Food store in Seaford, Delaware where customers enjoyed the taste of real Soul Food. She enjoyed being the candy lady, selling Glass Lollipops and going shopping. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and finding knick knacks. Daisey also drove school bus for the Milford School District. She enjoyed the students. She earned her GED from Jason High School in Georgetown, Delaware and attended Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Maryland. Daisey was also a poet and song writer. While she did not get any of her work professionally published in this earthly realm, we believe her many poems she wrote will be read and her songs will be sung in her new resting place with the Lord. The life and legacy of Daisy Lee Williams will be cherished by: her children, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law: Sherman and Selena Williams of West Virginia and North Korea, Marcella Williams of Newark, Delaware, Ross and Melissa Williams of Bridgeville, Delaware, Sarita and William C. Banning, Jr. of Middletown, Delaware, Hazel Truitt of Newport News, Virginia, Naydean Hill of Seaford, Delaware, Curtis Williams and Dycia Sierra and Shelly Williams of Seaford, Delaware, Mark Williams of Blades, Delaware, Christin and Tommie Washington of Dover, Delaware, Christopher Williams of Millsboro, Delaware and Daisey and Franco Batson of Seaford, Delaware; four (4) nieces, Clara Wright, Patricia Powell, Delores Pacheco, and Barbara Soto; more than fifty (50) grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Daisey’s two sons, Ronald Lee Williams and Vincent Nathaniel Williams and daughter, Veronica Williams preceded her in death. Daisey was the last surviving child of twenty-two (22) children; she is the last to go home. Her family and friends will greatly miss her—but she will always remain in our hearts and fondest memories.
