Curtis Ronald Lewis

Curtis Ronald Lewis, a resident of Fruitland, Maryland, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at his home. He was the son of Harrison Ronald Lewis of Baltimore, Maryland and the late Margaret Joyce Lewis. Curtis spent his early years in Catonsville, Maryland before moving to the eastern shore with his “Ma”. He returned to the Catonsville area as a preteen and received his education. Curtis enlisted in the United States Army and Maryland National Guard in his early adulthood. Curtis attended Catonsville Community College to obtain his Class A Commercial Driver’s License, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncles. Curtis became very passionate and caring about truck driving. He spent many years traveling across the United States highways. Over the course of his career, he was known by CB handle “Wild Child” which later developed into “Slow Motion.” In the later years Curtis began to slow down and take his time as opposed to expediting all his loads. With his last place of employment being T.N.T. Trucking. Curtis is survived by: his children Antwane “Twan” Jones of Fruitland, MD, Crystal Miller of Petersburg, VA, Von Eric “Von Weasel” (Jane)Nichols of Japan, Destiny Dale of Fruitland, MD and Ja’Ni Lewis of Austell, GA; his grandchildren, Christopher Miller, DaJour ”DJ” Jones, Dior Jones, Xavier Nichols, Ashton Williams and Breonn Obodo-Lewis; brothers Eric Lewis and Steven Lewis, both of Fruitland, MD and one sister Susan Lewis of Salisbury, MD; four aunts, Ruth Deal, Helen Perry, Thelma Towns, Joyce Lewis and Peggy Wilson; two uncles, Clyde Towns and Milton (Elenore) Towns, brotherly friends, Terrence Lawrence, Billy Carroll, Lawrence Grant, and Lavon Johnson; special friend, Erica Nichols and a host of fellow truckers, loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Curtis was preceded in death by: his caring, loving mother Margaret Joyce Lewis, or as he affectionately called her “Ma”; grandparents Reverend Dr. McKinley Towns and Anna Towns and Harrison and Lottie May Lewis; uncles, Nathaniel, Douglas, Lawrence and Roger Towns, Marion Lewis, Donald Perry, Sr. and Alton Deal, Sr. and aunts, Anna Marie Barkley and Arlene Black-Towns.
