Obituary Corinne Gloria Marshall was born on February 2, 1950 in Pocomoke City Maryland to the late Florence F. Mitchell and the late Raymond Brown. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at approximately 1:20 p.m., God dispatched an angel at the residence of her daughter, Darlene Dennis, to be received unto Him. Corinne attended the Worcester County public schools, graduating in 1968 from the former Worcester High School in Newark, Maryland. She joined Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City, Maryland at an early age and served there in the capacity of an usher. She enjoyed gospel music immensely, especially such favorites as “Just a Closer Walk with Thee”, “Standing in the Need of Prayer”, “This Little Light of Mine” and “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.” Corinne’s prior employments consisted of Jones’ Canning Factory and various housekeeping jobs locally and in the Ocean City, Maryland vicinity until her health failed in 2011. In her leisure time, Corrine enjoyed cooking, listening to gospel songs, going to church, dancing and going to yard sales with her beloved daughters. But, most importantly, Corinne possessed an exceptional love—loving her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an admirable, humble spirt of love and generosity that touched everyone with whom she came in contact. Corinne leaves precious memories to cherish her life with: her daughters, Darlene (Darryle) Dennis and Sheila Ayres, both of Pocomoke City, Maryland, Carolyn (Rufus) Gray of Salisbury, Maryland and Dionne (Muff) Renee Purnell, of Pocomoke City, Maryland, whom she raised as her own daughter; grandchildren, Tashia, Dionne (Muff), Jermaine, Denise, Keith, Darryle, Jr. and Breon; 8 great-grand children; a very special friend, William Harmon of Pocomoke, Maryland; siblings, Tommy Tucker of Salisbury, Maryland, Gloria (James) Townsend of Pocomoke, Maryland, Marcella Brown, Raymond Brown, Dennis Brown, Claudia (Baby Sis) Lewis and a host cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her mother and father, Corinne was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Anne Jester, her grandmother, Lena Brown by whom she was raised, her aunt, Margaret Holland, uncles, John Brown and Richard Brown, stepmother, Naomi Lewis, cousin Jane Holland who was loved like a sister.
