Clindora Harmon

"There was never a bird that flew so high, that didn't have to come down sometime.” This was one of many statements that Clindora spoke to her children. Clindora took flight to her heavenly home Tuesday afternoon on April 29, 2014. Clindora Harmon’s life began on August 1, 1921 to the late Edith Beckett and Elijah Harmon in a home located on the very road she later resided on in 1972 known today as Shell Bridge Road. Before she departed this life, her wish was to be in the comfort of her home on the Eastern Shore for which she loved. Clindora attended the public schools of Accomack County, Virginia. She continued to educate herself through reading and hands on skills. She was a domestic engineer with a passion for baking and sewing. She admired the wonders of nature from her kitchen window and contributed by planting and gardening around her yard. Clindora, at an early age, confessed her love for God and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She always sang the goodness of the Lord within the walls of her home. Later she sang these praises on the Senior Choir and when requested, as a soloist. She served as a Willing Worker, a Missionary, a member the Culinary Committee and of the Golden Age Ministry. Silently, Clindora gave to many charities like the Cancer Society, the Boy Scouts, NCPSSM and many more. All these things she did until her health no longer allowed. But she sang unto the Lord just days before her death asking him to“ Pass me not oh Gentle Savior” and the Lord heard her humble cry. Preceding Clindora in death on January 20, 2014 were her son Reginald Harmon and one son-in-law, Elmer R. Lynn, Sr. Her earthly family rejoicing in her home going include: her children—Judy F. Lynn, Rudolph M. Harmon, William C. (Carrie Ann) Harmon and Brenda H. (David) Walker, all of Philadelphia, PA and Lee Rome Harmon of Boston, VA and Berneda V. Harmon of Philadelphia PA;, 26 grandchildren; 23 great grand children, 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, church members and friends. “Just remember God’s promise, I’ll never leave you. Though the waters are raging, they'll do you no harm.
