Christopher Carles Parker

Christopher Carles Parker, was born in Lewes, Delaware, on Tuesday, September 10, 1974, in Beebe Hospital, to Marguerite Bailey and Charles Upshur. He departed this life on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the age of 46. He was raised by his mother, Marguerite Parker Bailey and “Pop” Theodore Bailey. He was baptized and became a member of Church of Christ in Frankford, Delaware, and at an early age. Christopher graduated from Indian River High School, in 1992. He became employed at Mountaire Farms, in Selbyville, Delaware, for 15 years. He later resided in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was employed at the Salvation Army. Chris was a kind and gentle soul, always encouraging people, loved everyone he met, and never met a stranger. One of his favorite things was, watching football, especially his favorite team, the Redskins. Every time he called Pop Theodore, Chris would talk about the Lord and how much he loved his family. We would often say” Chris” you talk like your grandmother, Annie Upshur. He was very fluent in speaking Spanish. He also enjoyed listening to old school music. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise and Henry Smith and Pierce Parker Sr.; uncle, Vincent; aunt, Dollanne Parker and aunt, Hilda; two nieces, Kiara and Ciara and cousin, Sahara Christopher leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Marguerite Parker-Bailey and Pop Theodore; father, Charles Upshur (Lucy); children, Christopher, Jr., and Darla Parker (Kansas City, MO) and Tyrese Parker Moore (North Carolina); siblings, big sister, Ava Parker Presley (Christy) (Glenarden, MD), who often called him Chuck, Ronshea Parker (Tamara) known as his best friend, confidant and main man (Washington, DC), Jessica Parker (Baltimore, MD), baby sister known as “baby girl”, whom he loved dearly, Tekeya Mumford (Delmar, DE), T.J. Mumford (Millsboro, DE), Cheneca Stephens (DE), Katrina Lovette (DE) and Dominque Lovette (DE); special aunts, Chonice Parker-Fisher (Malcolm) (Chesapeake, VA), Camille “Millie” Parker (Longneck, DE); uncle, Pierce Parker, Jr. (Abbey) (Bethesda, MD); cousin, Stephanie Haygood (Selbyville, DE); aunts, Carolyn Upshur, Gail Upshur and Cherrie Upshur, Yvonne Upshur, Doris Upshur and Gladys Upshur; uncle, Elton Upshur; special cousin, Tiffany Parker (Longneck, DE) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends of Dog Patch.
